    Hi All,

I have a replay lite box. I tried to put in the updates a while ago but when i unpluged my box i must have unpluged it too early and messed it up. When i plug it in it stays on the red light, when i click the on switch on the remote it stays on red. It wont switch on. I know the remote is working (Tried it on another box). I tried to clone the box but when its finished, instead of flashing fast it goes back to red. Can anyone help! PLEASE!

Ah the dreaded "Red Light Problem" May be best to print this message as you need to follow it carefully.

What you need to do is go to eamo's library at the link below and download 7.42a which is the boot loader (the platform on which the firmware sits) http://eko.4shared.com/

When you are attempting to install this you may find that you get a connection error. If this happens do not attempt to establish a connection. Instead just go straight to upload software.

Let it load and be very careful to watch the red/green light on the box. It will flash intermittently when the software is loading and for about 3-5 minutes after it has loaded from the pc.

WAIT until the light on the box flashes rapidly

Now disconnect the power cable from the box wait about 2-3 seconds and re power it. Dont bother to going to menu or anything else as you have more to do.

Now you need to do the same thing all over again with 9.10 and remember to wait for the lights to flash rapidly.

When 9.10 is loaded you need to do an auto search.

If you are in Ireland on N*Hell do the following

    Go to Auto Search
Type in 290.0 in Start freq
and 403.0 in the End freq
Set the Symbol Rate to 6887 -(type in if necessary when you see ****)
    Constellation....64 QAM
    Search by Network......ON
    Press Search
When all channels are found select View

This search should take about 5 mins.

If you are on N*Hell in the UK use the following

    Start Frequency.....290
    End Frequency.......692

Did you get the box to go to green when you plugged it back in after loading 7.42a ?

Unplug the box from the mains. Connect the Null Modem cable. Open the stb link

Plug the box back in to the power

    Dont try to "setup Comm"

Just click upgrade software and select the file 742a.bin

    It should load.

Nothing. I tried clicking on the "upgrade software" button the selecting the 742a.bin file and then plugging it in. It then gave me a message stating that my boot loader is the old version. I am starting to lose hope. As i say, "It only takes a spark to start a fire". Ie: One little mistake in updating the box can mess it all up. Any other ideas?

You got the cart before the horse so to speak... Plug the box in and then click on "upgrade software"

Dont panic, this problem happens regularly.

2 questions,if anyone has the answers
1; with the updated software installed is it ok to change the password from 0000/7777 to one of your own choice or will this mess things up.
2;when the volume control on the box is turned to max and is still not loud enough i turn up the telly volume itself, but then depending on how loud i set it, i get a humming noise off the telly. i dont have any sound systems hooked up to the telly just its own built in speakers.any solutions or do i just live with it. its not a big problem really, more annoying than anything.

You can change your password to one of your choice. The only time you may have to change it back to 7777 is if you are having trouble getting the nagra key to appear or if you are getting 1800 scrambled at sometime in the future.

WIth regard to the sound problem, I would suggest you try a different scart lead or AV leads which ever you are using. They carry the sound and are almost guarinteed to be your problem.

Can I download all 3 files without having to connect the box to the TV? ...because I am in Chorus but the box is for someone in NTL

Just a general query really, everythings working fine at the moment however I'd like to scan for new channels but without losing any of the ones that we've got now. I know very little about frequency stuff, settings etc and don't really want to do a full scan for fear of losing what we do have. Is there a way of searching for any new channels whilst making sure we keep the ones we've got? On nthell UK, in south wales.Any ideas? Thanks

To do a manual search on the replay lite box.
    Menu,
    User Installation,
    Manual Search….OK
Up pops the Manual Search box.

    Channel number: CH 1.
Frequency: 394 (what ever freq you want)
Symbol Rate: 6887 (what ever your area symbol rate)
    Constellation: 64 QAM.
    Search By Network: ON.
    Search
The box will find a number of channels on your selected frequency.
When the search is finished, Select VIEW.
The new channels will be now stored at the bottom of your channel list.
Eg: If you already had 120 channels stored, the new ones will be stored from 121 onwards.

The manual search will find some channels you already have, just delete them.

Cheers gman, but how do I know what freq I want? & how can I find out the area specific things? Sorry for being a bit thick about this, I've saved a few posts relating to frequencies but from what I can remember they don't tell me what frequency I need etc. I'll have a look at the stuff I may have saved. Thanks again!

There is a UK frequency list you can download from the Sig at the end of this post.

Is that what you're looking for?

    Welcome back Bloomberg,

You just download the 3 required files to your desktop.
Back up the channels from the replay lite before you flash the box.
These can then be reloaded again aftre the flash is complete.

    http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/132/502990

All the instructions and files are on the above link.
You can also go to Eamos Library (link under my sig)go to the replay lite folder, documentation and download the "flashing the replay lite" document, this along with the instructions on the above link will give you a good knowledge of how to flash the box.

Don't forget make sure your Null Modem lead has part number L71BT.

    The best of luck M8ty

    Hi Bash62,

Men and Motors is not carried anymore, it will show up in a scan but is not broadcast.

    Don't know why though.
