resident evil 4 can't change the gamepad controls

i can't change the settings for the game pad in resident evil 4.
i'm using a ps3 controller. when i try to press a button to change a control, it doesn't work. it works with other games. resident evil 4 sucks on the pc without the gamepad. it has clunky controls.

 

have you tried xpadder? it emulates the keyboard and mouse strokes so that you can set your controls to what comforts you

 

well, does xpadder have support for ps3 controllers?
