For those who are still having trouble with importing a PSL file with DVD Decrypter:

While using DVD Decrypter you would click 'File' and then follow the selection 'Protected Sector List' and click 'Import'. This will open a browse window. Select the file (you made) with the .PSL extention.

The PSL file should contain everything between the ------
    ----------- begin dvd_video.psl ---------------------
    PSL
    184370-184400
    184401-184431
    184432-184462
    184463-184493
    184494-192543
    192544-196079
    1953828-2084899
    2259324-2259354
    2259355-2259385
    2259386-2259416
    2259417-2259447
    2267504-2271039
    4038680-4038749
    4038750-4169821
    4169840-4169909
    ------------ end dvd_video.psl ----------------------

    Goodluck!

AnyDVD beta software updated: beats new ARccOS version

SlySoft has released another beta version of the AnyDVD software that adds support for newer versions of the Sony ARccOS copy-protection. For those of you who are not familiar with the AnyDVD software, more information is available here. Here is the changelog for this latest beta version:

    AnyDVD v4.4.1.1 (beta):

    * Added support for a new version of the "Sony ARccOS protection" as found on "Resident Evil - Apocalypse" (US) or "Little Black Book" (US) to the option to remove "Protection based on unreadable Sectors"
    * Fix: AnyDVD did not work correctly with Mini-DVDs in some CD-ROM drives
    * Fix: Sometimes assumed unprotected DVD-R/RWs are CSS protected DVDs with some drives
    * Some minor fixes and improvements
    * Updated languages

I went to Blockbuster this morning and got Resident Evil: Apocalypse. I don't know anything about an "official" release date, but Blockbuster has it today.

I have tried numerous times to use DVD X-copy platinum with no luck. Freezes up evey time.

Hopefully somebody will get it figured out soooooon :)

    GOOD LUCK ALL

No 1clickdvd will not burn it. Get VobBlanker and save the movie onto your hard drive and then you can burn using 1clickdvd.

Well said! In some respects, this thread should be closed. There ARE at least three methods to "backup" RE2.

the way i burned resident evil 2 was with VOB blanker and then run it through dvd shrink it made a perfect copy menues both fullscreen and widescreen and even previews and all just dvd shrink wont do it alone and decrypter wont either. try VOB blanker it is a free download and it will work

I tried the VOB Blanker and what I got was a folder with encrypted files. The nero movie player would play them but the picture was broken up in little blocks. DVDShink would not proccess the Blanker folder. The VOB Blanker instructions clearly states that the movie must be decrypted first. I must be missing a step someware.

    @MrSpeed,

Run VOBBlanker, input files are those directly from the original DVD. Place all the files in a VIDEO_TS folder as you would with any Vob, BUP & IFO group then allow any ripping proggy to finish the job - the rest may be processed by any means.

    ATTENTION EVERYONE:

I know everyone is trying to present a working method BUT, the facts are -

Once you use any of the following to rip RE 2,

Option 1. VOBBlanker then any standard ripper

Option 2. DVD Decrypter with the DVD_VIDEO.PSL folder

    OR

    Option 3. AnyDVD ver. 4.4.0.0.OR 4.4.1.1.

YOU CAN USE ANY PROGRAM YOU WISH TO BACKUP RE 2

The above 3 methods will render RE 2 without encryption of any nature.

All your regular favorite programs will then work -

I hope that will end any confusion about what process will and will not work.

    Cheers,

    Pete

I had tha same problem. When I took it back the peeps there ( i know them very well )@ the rental store asked if I had any problems with the movie. I told them that it would black out and not play. They told me that alot of peeps were having tha same problem. I asked and they said that the industry was trying out a new form of copy protection.

I wish this thread would end........all the answers to all the questions being asked here have been answered so many times in this very thread, it's becoming very repeditive.....if people would just read what's being said here, 80% of these questions would not have to be asked.
    I rest my case....
