    xXTUBBYXx,

You're off to an extremely bad start, we don't talk about cracks OR Keygens and we certainly don't link to them - edit that crap off this thread NOW ! !

AND as soon as you've finished that, go here to read our rules -

I used DVD Rescue to make a good backup , it took a long time to copy the files and 15 minutes to burn copy works great!

Sorry about that no more screaming anyways all you do is insert the dvd right then you click to the folder on the dvd click the first one. BAM! in takes quite a long time but the you use shrink.

Its real easy... to rip RE2. I have over 500+ backups, and well this is the first one that gave me troubles. vobBlanker works like a charm.

    Install/Unzip to chosen directory

    Run exe

For input folder select your dvd drive that has RE2

Open up the video_ts folder and hit ok

then select output folder to where u want the movie copied too

    Then hit process... thats it!!!
Don't worry about modifyibg it in anyway cause I didn't really see the need for it.

Open DvD shrink and open file point to where the files are located for RE2

AND BOOM THERE U GO!! Just carry on the way u do it just as if u put the dvd and and started shrink.

Pick out what u want and rip, it works great no problems(for me at least)

I am unable to burn the whole DVD of RE 2 using the VOB Blanker and DVD Shrink method. It won't let me open the files in full disc mode, and when I reauthor, all of the menus are available, but not functional. All the menu screens basically just play like a movie. I cannot highlight anything. A lil help please. Thanks.

There was a bunch of posts about this problem before. I was told to download VOB Blanker and then go into DVD Shrink. It took alittle time but it worked and I know now have RE: Apocalypse. You can get the movie but not menus, shrink won't encode them

    bpoelster,
Thanks for the help. Lots of other great stuff in here too from other folks too, btw...thanks to all who contributed. I used bpoelster's import/rip with dvd decrypt/shrink with dvd shrink successfully, and it plays great. This was actually the first movie that I had difficulty since initially getting dvdshrink a while back, and I found the help here invaluable. Always a joy to find other souls out there willing to help create backup copies of the movies we own.

So I guess my chances are pretty slim of having the menus actually operational using these programs... Someone please tell me of another method that is FREE and that will allow me to burn the full disc with fuly functional menus.

No trouble using the super dvd copy 2.0,rip to harddrive, open up shrink,re-author or main movie only, burn with nero.

Very easy guide to use there.

Took 18 mins. to rip, shrunk whole movie, used enhancements, perfect copy.

First time dvd shrink has let me down, I just looked through out this thread when it was at 86 posts.lol

Good Luck to all here at AD. Happy Holidays.

I just used VobBlanker and then as suggested using Shrink, pointed to the target file containing the video_ts and it worked when I re-authored the dvd.
Doesnt look as though you can copy menus and all but the main movie and it works fine

OK then guys, I'm running a bit late BUT many thanks to Shyster and his VOBBlanker solution, it's good to have more than one person on a problem.

For those pple who are still "out in the cold," and weren't sure about the VOBBlanker way - Here's something that's a no-brainer -

One easy solution to RIP RESIDENT EVIL 2 is as follows:

DVD Decrypter could always do the job, Decrypter just had to be shown what files were the bad files so that it could bypass them.. Lighting U.K. the author of DVDD (DVD Decrypter) just had to design a "patch". It's about 6 posts up from the bottom of this thread -

    http://forum.dvddecrypter.com/index.php?s=9b13ab890c241fd1486f40771c02833a&showtopic=14891&st=0

Right-click the "Attached file DVD_VIDEO.PSL" and save it to your Desktop. Next open up DVD Decrypter, go to "File" then "Protected Sectors List" then "Import". Browse until you find your downloaded DVD_VIDEO.PSL file and click, "OK" and those files will automatically be "gobbled up" by DVDD so when you get ready to rip RE2 it will just slide on through.

Once again it has been proved that no matter what pple think of to encrypt something, someone else will find a way to break it :)

Cheers, and Happy New Year everyone -

    Pete

The 'protected sectors list' is greyed out in my DVd Decrypter so I am unable to insert the patch.
Any idea how to get around that??
    Thanks

You have to have the DVD in your dvdplayer in your pc in order to access the Import/Export option, if no media is present, you cannot use it
