Hello, i know i tried for two hours last night and then again this morning before i finally found the link to vob blacker i just put the disk in the dvd drive and then clicked on my disc drive then i clicked on the video folder and clicked open it automatically put all the files there i did not have to highlight anything i then made a folder that i wanted the files to go into on my hard drive clicked the output browse button and found that folder and hit process it took about 15 minutes then i opened dvd shrink and hit open files and clicked on the file i saved resident evil to and it ran as it normally would and i burnt with dvd decryptor.

first time posting here, been lurking in the shadows for a while. I was able to use vob blanker to backup the disk then open it in dvd shrink 3.2 and compress it as usual. The I burned i off to a disc and the meues appeared to work. I was a bit late for work and did not actually, try any selections but there were on the disc.

    Thanks

Hi.....I'd first like to thank everybody who has contributed. I was confused when I first saw the error message in DVDD.

I've run RE2 thru Super DVD Copy, but when I open Alcohol 120% to mount the MDS file on my virtual drive so I can run it through Nero Recode - A-120% can't find anything....What am I doing wrong?

After reading many suggestions, here is what I did and what worked first time.

I already have DVDShrink and I use Nero6 with it. I tried to use DVD Decrypter but had no success so I downloaded VobBlanker. Processed only the Video_TS files, then processed them to my hard drive. Fired up DVDShrink and selected the files just processed on my hard drive and burned to a DVD-R. Everything works fine. Wide screen and also full. Yes, I played each one to make sure. I hope this helps everyone and thanks for the advice to get VobBlanker, a great free program.

DVD Shrink to compress and burn.

Climbhigh all you have to do is create a new folder call it evil2. And then browse and find that folder in the output folder window everything else is fine.

the OUTPUT folder should look like this( c:\evil2)if you have all that other suff after it , it just wont work. So go ahead a create a folder on your C drive dont use a folder that is already there. Let me know if this helps you.

Just tried that and I get the SAME error :/

    What the hell..

    This is getting annoying.

I've tried ripping Trainspotting and it started to rip just fine with that program (VObBLANKER), but it WILL NOT work on RE2 for me.

Is this dvddecrypter patch JUST for RE ??

Is there a genereal patch available for any future DVD done this way (for dvddecrypter) or do we use another ripping tool that works without patching, like the vobblanker mentioned earlier ? Even if it does take a bit longer - surely better than not working at all or looking for a patch every time !

I too had the same problem with the VobBlanker Program, and I too felt frustrated when ppl kept on saying to just do it and that was it, It Wasn't....
I found a solution to it, here is what you need to do:

*- Instead of processing all files at the same time Skip file "VIDEO_TS.VOB" and process it separately, then put all the files together in a single file..

You are NOW READY TO USE DVD Shrink for a 100% perfect replica...

I hope this helps you and anyone out there who has encountered this problem...

Help!!!! When I use Xpress Copy, after I do the first part of the process with the original DVD it tells me to insert the blank DVD, I do and then it instantly tells me copy complete. I have backed up hundreds of DVDs without problems, now this!! The only thing I see is that the DVD I normaly use is x4 -R and the DVDs I tried last night are x8 -R. Would that do anything?

OMG...!!!! whats so hard about importing a psl.file! It's very simple. I know a lot of you newbies use decrypter. Just try it and go on about using your normal methods.

I already tried that myself, but to no avail.. same error.

I also tried a number of combinations and variables -- No dice.

    I am done with Blanker.

Now, I can't burn using decrypter because it won't let me import this file saved in notepad

    PSL

Yes, I saved it as a PSL file. I made a file file association in folder properties to open this file in notepad.

I'm now getting this error with decrypter.

    WTF...

*You guys better check your IDE in device manager if you used Shrink on this DVD. It reduced mine from DMA to PIO mode!! Because the disk would not read and Windows XP just changed the setting as a failsafe. Just uninstall the main IDE (the one above primary and secondary), reboot, and it will revert back to DMA.

    Hey, the more you know!

Someone help me with importing that file with decrypter!

Jesus, this is like splitting atoms or something.

hctr3 no my comment is not directed towards you. As for your general question on the use of a different speed dvd-r it shouldn't make a difference. I've used different speeds ranging from 2x up to 16x. I currently use 2x for a better burn. As for DVDXpress copy...I tried that program last night as well. It doesn't work.

I've exhausted all of my programs for a straight 12 hrs.

The only easiest method I've concluded with is right clicking the patch directly from the decrypter forum and downloading the psl file. It takes no time at all.
choose the protected sectors list after decrypter reads the dvd. Choose import, find the location of where you downloaded the psl file on your pc and then your all set. Rip the whole dvd to keep everything. Then use dvd shrink and back it up. The burning method is up to you. I choose to burn with the decrypter instead of nero. I know everyone has there own methods but lets be realistic. When we want to back up something we paid for in order to keep the original merchandise in mint condition...we want to have everything but the CRP on our backed up discs..right.

climbhigh I already noticed what you did wrong. when you downloaded the patch you downloaded the actual list instead of the file. Go back to the site where you can dl the patch. right click the patch link and choose save target as. Choose the save location. It will automatically save itself as a psl.file .

    DVD_VIDEO.PSL ( 310bytes ) Number of downloads: 1861

you do not click on the file. you have to right click, choose save target as, then download. It will automatically save as a psl.file .

climbhigh, you "don't need" the DVD_VIDEO.PSL file for DVD Decrypter from the forums, just copy and paste this into notepad and save as any-name you want. (Everything, the word PSL as well as the # sequences must be in the file). I saved it as DVD_VIDEO.PSL for simplicity.

    PSL
    184370-184400
    184401-184431
    184432-184462
    184463-184493
    184494-192543
    192544-196079
    1953828-2084899
    2259324-2259354
    2259355-2259385
    2259386-2259416
    2259417-2259447
    2267504-2271039
    4038680-4038749
    4038750-4169821
    4169840-4169909

Then click import list and select your newly created notepad file. P.S. The RE2 disc must be in the dvd drive for this to work.

Worked the very first try!! All that is left is to do the usual DvdShrink & Nero burn method.
