Two newbie problems I'd appreciate advice on:

After reinstalling Windows I inadvertantly captured a few MPEGs as 524x576 (PAL) MPEG-1 instead of 768x576 MPEG-2. Can anyone suggest the best technique (preferably free as I don't aim to do this again) for converting and resizing. Currently the picture looks tall and thin instead of 4x3.

Secondly are there any tools for recovering a corrupted MPEG. A power outage caused it. Windows Media Player 10 plays the MPEG fine, however Studio 9 and NeroVision Express 3 choke on the file.

    regards - jrisch
