Thanks to this board I can now successfully copy file to dvd-r - however I want to retrieve any good files whilst ignoring any wirh crc errors completely.

I've been using the recover option of cdcheck but this takes ages trying to retrieve the duff files.

Is the a piece of (preferably free) software that will recover the good files whilst ignoring the duff ones?

    TIA

    Tony

don't understand what you mean by good files bad files and is this a movie or what? more information please. Do you want to make a copy of a movie from a copy you already have and you are having problems with the original movie? We need more information and tell us what programs you have and what you tried to do. then maybe we can help you with your problem. We aim to help out. Lord knows I was a newbie once, too!

No I didn't - the other post was about the original problem - my CRC errors - that mutated into another query about how to recover the good files from a disc which got no takers - so I started a new thread - two totally different topics!

I would sugest you not even bother with it. I dont know of any program that would do it, but even if you did get files off a disc that had errors on it I wouldnt trust it. So id say no there isnt a program and just scrap the bad disc and not bother with them.
