RipIt4Me,Version 1.7.0.0 2-28-07 28 February: Version 1.7.0.0 has been released. The major change is the adaptation of the FixVTS code within RipIt4Me. This should eliminate all those issues about not pointing correctly to FixVTS.exe. See the changelog for full details. Thanks also to our strings translaters - there's a few changes in this version. See the version history. Version 1.7.0.0 (28 February 2007) * First version that integrates our adaptation of FixVTS. There is no need to have FixVTS installed anymore. Several options concerning FixVTS have been renamed/removed, including the FixVTS log, which is now included (and much simplified) into the RipIt4Me log. * When a cell is removed, the next cell's STC discontinuity flag is now set. This might help with playability problems with certain players when tiny cells are removed. * In Step 1, if your preferences are not to empty the target directory at the start, you're no longer asked to confirm whether you want to delete all the files. * If the DVD is episodic with episodes in different VTSs and the user selects "movie only" or "movie+menus", Step 1 offers to switch back to "Full DVD" when the user presses OK. * Attempted to make the copying of the original IFOs faster. In case of failure, we re-try 10 times. * Fixed a potential crash during the cell cleanup when the IFOs are a bit messed up (cell command declared, but non-existent). * Fixed a small problem in the analysis code that could cause errors in the Stargate DVD. * If for some reason the PSL file was not imported, the user is only notified if dummy sectors are found, since if none are found it really does not matter. * The first time 1.7.0.0 is run, the user is prompted to increase maxvobdur to 300 (if it is not already so). This is a one-time offer. Please accept it. * The lock on the RipIt4Me.log and DebugLog.txt files are now released at the end of the Wizard and 1-click modes so you can open/move them if you wish. * The part of the debug log that concerned Step1 (ripping the IFOs) was no longer present in the final debug log. This is now fixed. * Fixed (once more) a problem with moving the original IFOs in linux. * Other minor IO confirmation messages added. Just ran a movie thru RipIt4Me V1.7.0 and compared to v1.6.9 it was transparent...they work identically... Keeping v1.6.9 around just in case there are any inconsistencies with their adaptation of FixVTS...
This is a good step, I am glad they decided to intergrate FixVTS/a FixVTS like system into RipIt4Me. It makes it far simpler for people to use.
RipIt4Me no rip it to them It's March! wait a minute. does this mean that we don't have to have fixvts because it is already included in the program or because there is not need to use it anymore? i believe fixvts is still being used.
Could this mean they have their own type of version of FixVts? This doesn't sound right as I type it....lol Strat
Does the upgrade of RipIt4Me replace the previous version as you download it or do you have to uninstall the previous version and then run the install of the new version?
Myself i download it in my RIPIT folder extract it in the folder then just delete the shortcut to the previous version then open the new one and it creates a new shortcut. i dont uninstall any of it just delete that shortcut and run the new version..... i havent tried the new version yet. seeing that fixvts is imbeded in ripit4me. will we not see the process of fixvts running now??? well hell i l answer my own question i burn a movie and find out..lol be back with answer if someone don answer before i get back..lol

cool i wasnt 100% sure just looked like voblanker working there. learn something new everyday. Thanks BB..
OK after looking at this a little closer I see that ripIt4Me does in fact still use FixVTS, but they have it hard coded into RipIt4Me now so that is why there is no need to have FixVTS loaded anymore. I believe they did this just to make it easier and clear up some issues people were having with RipIt4Me not pointing correctly to the FixVTS executable file. All in all it will just make the program easier to use, and now I need to go change a couple of my guides again
For anyone interested Ripit4Me also runs under Linux here is a screen shot. http://my.afterdawn.com/wolfmanz/show_image.cfm/11006/full
This guide is a good starting place http://forum.digital-digest.com/showthread.php?t=74727 If you have basic knowledge of Linux and Wine it is very easy to set-up and get running.
i'm a little bit confused yet(i've used the new ver. w/ great success), but......should i un-install fixVTS ? it sure seems to me that RIPit is still accessing fixVTS after the rip. personally, i've never had a problem w/ RIPit4me NOT finding the folder 4 fixVTS. but at the end of the day....i guess it's easier this way. PS is there a way to switch the option to "burn with DVD-Decrypter" to "burn with IMG BURN" within DVD SHRINK ? PEACE
I did not un-install FixVTS from my system and it should not open when Ripit4Me is running. These are quotes from the change log This one is more important! You could also save and post your log
there is a updated version of dvdshrink that lets you burn with imageburn. i think it is version 3.2.0.15 im not 100% on that i will look and see and post back. unless someone beats me to it. here ya go take you right to the download of version 3.2.0.15 http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/dvd_rippers/dvd_shrink.cfm
The updated version is a CSS free version Hacked by someone other than the original developer. A lot of people seem to be using it, but I will stick with the original. There is a thread over at Digital Digest in the Shrink forum. http://forum.digital-digest.com/showthread.php?t=63869 I do not use DVD Shrink a whole lot any more, but it is still a very useful tool.
