Hello, I'm new but I have looked around at several messages to try to answer my questions, which did offer some help, but I still haven't met success.
I have an iMacG4. I ripped a DVD with Mac the Ripper. The file was 4.1 GB so I did not compress (should you do this anyway?). From inside the folder labeled with the title of my DVD, I dropped the "VIDEO_TS" folder into Roxio Toast. I used the Data tab, and selected DVD-ROM. I removed the ds_store file (once in toast. Should I have removed this from my desktop folder?). I burned onto DVD-R (Memorex) The burn finished, but the DVD-R was not recognized either by my stand alone or computer.
I have read that the title of the DVD-R is important. Once in Toast I renamed the DVD-R to match the name of the ripped DVD (CAPS with _ between words). Should I have renamed the "VIDEO_TS" folder instead? I have also seen an AUDIO_TS mentioned in the forums...I did not see this.
Sorry to be so long, but I have tried to take the advice that I saw here. Anyhelp would be very appreciated.

Is there a Rip & Burn tutorial posted here? There should be.

Then using toast 6: SELECT DATA/DVD-ROM, create a disc title with all caps and no spaces. Then inside your disc should be the VIDEO_TS AND AUDIO_TS folders.

If dvd player on the mac pops up and plays the discs you burn fine, then the MEDIA you are using might not work with your player. Try it in another player to see.
