    i dont remember the guide but there is a program called dvd audio ripper by IMTOO that will rip the audio out of a dvd and chapter it for you into mp3

    http://www.imtoo.com

    then it should be easy enough to convert it to a wav.

    all you need is a ripper program (like dvd decryptor or smartrippper) and dvd2avi... instructions are at http://entiendo.gotnet.net under the dvd2avi tab

    DVD Audio Ripper will also actually create the WAV for you.
    It rips to both MP3 & WAV. The choice, as they say, is yours.

    But a MP3 is a compressed WAV, right? The DVD has AC3 which I extract with Smartripper. Then I use BeSweet as a GUI frontend for Azid, to extract AC3 to WAV (2-pass) with wonderful control. Are you all set then with a WAV?
    Or if you want to compress to MP3 from there (I have a WAV I'm really happy with) how should I do it? Don't I need CBR for DivX AVIs? I need maybe 160 kbs (stereo).
    I have VDubMod but I have always used Lame CBR and muxed with video, to make AVI.
    I want to ask about the new codec bit I think I'm gonna start a new thread,
    Regards

    The point is if you use the DVD Audio Ripper, it will rip directly to either WAV OR MP3.
    No need for any other steps.
    It's up to you. If what you have works then stick to it.

    @The_OGS,
    you can put vbr mp3 in avi, but its a hack, and that is another topic. and i think its time to move on from mp3 and avi....my 2cents
