Just got my Dell with DVD+ burner. Came with Sonic software.
Will it burn movies after DVD Shrink?
Is Smart Ripper better or is DVD Shrink?
If Sonic won't do movies, should I go the route of Nero6 or DVD x-copy? Or even something else.

I want to burn without compression sometimes, even if it takes more than one disc.

    O.K. - Get me started.

The sonic software may burn movies. I don't know much about it and havent heard much about it. You may have to play with the settings to get it to work--you may want to try +rw until that happens.

I would use shrink over smartripper because it will compress also. the ripper is shrink is based on the smartripper program.

if you cant use sonic, i would try nero or recordnow. They are the more successful burning programs for dvds. they will both be better than trying to use xcopy.

I used Sonic software when I was a newbie.
I now used DVD Shrink or CloneDVD to backup all of my DVD movies.

If you want to use DVD Shrink but don't know where to start, use my DVD Shrink guides for both re-authoring and copying a DVD. (Link below)

    Good luck :D
