Is it ok to rip from my Sony DVD ROM and burn on my Pioneer DVDRW 107. I ripes so much faster on my DVD ROM. Will it hinder my video quality? I use DVD X copy Platinum.

Hi there knightsar, welcome to aD,

It's fine to rip from your DVD-ROM - as a matter of fact, it's by far the best way to do it. Your DVD-ROM reads faster than your burner and it's much easier on your burner as it doesn't have to start and stop so much - extending your burner's life -

It's the reason I recommend buying a DVD-ROM if you have the room to put it in your PC.

Burn on there "good guy" burn on -

    Cheers,

    Pete

Thank Pete for you quick response! I had always wondered about that. Haven't really had anyone to ask about it before.

My personal recommendation is to install a DVD-ROM if you don't have one to play DVD's / Music on and use it to rip from and the burner to write to when you're doing backups.

It's the best way to do things, IMHO -

    Pete
