samsung 32 inch lcd hdtv screen size problems

    I have hooked up my pc to to the tv and evry thing looks fine until i try and play a dvd on my pc > when i hit alt enter i get a black bar at the top and bot of the screen. How can i use the whole screen?

    btw i have tried power dvd and windows media player 11 and am running vista basic.

    Aspect ration on the DVD is 2:35 maybe?

    meh, i hit all possible sceen sizes configurable by the tv. I always get a freeking bar top n bot. pisses me off bcz i bought the new tv in the hope that i would get rid of that loss of screen cant they give you a freekin movie that fits your damn hdtv!?

    _Rodent - Click here. This explains why you still get black bars sometimes even on a widescreen HDTV.

    I have the 40" Samsung and the the aspect size "zoom1" can be used to get rid of bars but it stretches the picture vertically. Things look funny.

    Yeah, my 27" Samsung has that as well. Zoom1, Zoom2, 4:3 and 16:9. I keep mine set at 16:9.
