My Samsung galaxy y seems to have a mind of its own. Everytime I turn it on for the past few days it requests a password to unlock. I tried my puc number and that seems to do the job,but everytime I try to use it it keeps requesting the password. Can anyone tell me if there is a way to turn it off completely

Tap through Settings > Security > Sim card lock. Tap to uncheck "Lock SIM card" enter your SIM code and tap OK.

    You would be all set.
