For all those who lost the Sansa Media Converter software, I found this online:

I assume it is the correct file:
    http://www.megaupload.com/?d=CQ6136WO
I got the link from here.

I checked the megaupload link and it still works. It is about 15 MB in size. However, someone toward the end of that thread (Oct. 24) said it did not work for them. I don't know any details. I still have my cd.

Other stuff I found that might help:
    http://gadgets.elliottback.com/2006/06/05/sandisk-sansa-e260/
And here are the main helpful quotes from that link:

    Or this:
    And also this:

I also found this alternative to getting your videos coded for the Sanse e200 series players. It is shareware (30 dollars to buy), but you can check it out here.

    I hope all this helps.

Why do people keep saying they LOST the Coverter Software?

If you read the contents listed on the box, you'll notice that the Converter Software never came with it. In fact, inside the Quick Start Guide (pg. 4 if the booklet had been numbered, not counting cover page front and back) it states that you NEED to download the Sansa Media Converter software at www.sandisk.com/sansa.

Although, I couldn't find it there... Then I went and googled it, and found this and decided I should clarify something.

The Sansa Media Converter software does not come in the box, it must be downloaded separately. The CD that comes with your Sansa is an Installation CD that contains a PDF Format Installation Guide and nothing else.
