i figure i discovered the sasser worm too late.after experiencing the usual symptoms my laptop finally came to the point where it wont boot up in safe mode or normal.i realize putting my whole collection of pictures on there without backing them up was a mistake.im in iraq so i cant just go find a tech.all i really care about is those pictures.someone please tell me that all is not lost.
I can't be sure,but probably not. you'll need to take the hard drive to a specialist to recover the data.
don't use it any more for now, either. every time you try to use it, a little more damage is done. a specialist would be the best solution, without a doubt.
get another laptop drive of same or bigger capacity to be installed in your laptop to be reloaded with windows & other programs including a good anti-virus program. get a 2.5" usb2 external hd enclosure to take your sick hd to pull off the pictures & info. than delete old partition & make a new partition on the sick hd & format it so can use that drive as a backup for your info.
