I burned my first dvd today from a dvd rip (IFO) and the burn went sucessfully, problem free until I stuck it in the old dvd player. Volume comes out fine but the picture looks like im trying to get cable that I didnt pay for (horizontal scrambles). When tried in my other dvd player it didnt attempt to play it at all. So i figured that the one that didnt play it just wasnt capable. Any reason why this one plays it but scrambled?

Edit:: I burned it using "CopytoDVD" and another completly unsucessful version for either DVD player with nero.

Sounds like a PAL to NTSC problem. Was the disc you ripped in PAL format and you are possibly playing on a NTSC player and TV?

Maybe try a different brand, like Ritek.
