I have some VOB files which I understand are containers for MPEG
video and they seem to be self running and created by Cyberlink PowerDVD
program. What I want to do is extract freeze frames or screen captures
to individual files in BMP or JPG format. For some reason my favorite
JPG image viewer (which has a great screen capture capability)
cannot see the video images. When I do a screen capture all I get
    is a blank screen image.
Does anyone have any ideas how I can do this ?
    Thanks

Load the movie into AviDemux (select the first VOB of the main Title, usually - not always - VTS_01_1.VOB).
Seek through it and save a particular frame.
Include the extension with the file name, e.g. frame1.bmp
