if you are using the TMPGenc wizard...

1 on step 3/5 check the source range check box
2 set the end frame to a figure (i always start at 100000) depending ont h size of the input file.
    3 click OK
    4 click Next
5 this will show you the size of the resulting file, if it does not fit on one disk, click back and repeat 1-4 until it does.
    6. then click OK

Once this encoding has completed, initiate a new wizard 1 on screen 2/5 select the same file
2 on step 3/5 check the source range check box
3 set the start frame to the end figure from the first run end range as -1.
    4 click OK
    5 click Next
    6. click OK (remember to change the filename)

then burn the seperate files to seperate CD's

I believe there is a way of automating this, but have never done this myself!! maybe some-one else can help??

Also there are templates which can create signifigantly smaller files (see here http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/170194 ), however the quality can be a little dodgy.
