    Hi,
I have 2 sata drives in my PC ,which has Vista home premium loaded into it,fully updated.
I have just done a full reload of vista after many problem with loading updates. This has cured my problem, but now i have a drive that is not getting recognised with my computer.
I have one 250G drive with windows vista loaded on,this is recognized. Also i have another drive of 160G (this is where i load all photos and files in case of viruses etc),but if i go to my computer i can only see the C drive which is the 250G drive with windows loaded on it.I cannot see the other drive.
yet if i go to my computer-properties-device manager -and disk drives,i can clearly see the 160G drive here.
I always thought sata drives do not need to be set as master and slave.
Have i missed something simple here.????
    Help appreciated as always.

Hello, i will do what i can to help.

    Heres something to test,

Open control panel, administrator tools, computer management and select disk management.

Does this show your 160G drive, and is it marked as online?

I did this and went to tools ,and selected the drive that MY PC couldnt see, formatted it after that it works as it should.
It is strange that "my computer"couldnt recognise it".

    Your welcome,

allthough it is possible that you would of only needed to of assigned a drive letter, and would of avoided having to format it.

But either way, its working and i'm glad i was able to help.
