i changed the thread title, i wasn't aware that there was a thread like this. thanks guys, for keeping me in check
cheers kinza hopefully this thread won't be as epic as long-running as the 'good movies' thread, but only cus hopefully there's better films out there to watch than bad ones :O
just saw chronicles of Narnia, it belongs in this thread, total piece of crap other than the white witch, but just because it's that hottie from Constantine. other than her, the movie was a total POS in my opinion. but hey i'm very critical of movies, it's gotta be something very cool for me to like it. the major problem with this movie is most little kids would love it but it's sooo damn violent! i'm not letting my 6 year olds watch it or they'll have nightmares. and we all know i'm the only one allowed to give my kids nightmares!
lol, i didn't see it myself but my six year old brother and mom saw it. my brother said it was good, but then again he's six. my mom refused to give an opinon.
she was probably still in shock form all the violence she just subjected a 6 year old too! shouldn't you be in bed young lady?
my kids have seen Narnia, they loved it. they've also just seen the original King Kong, and my eldest wasn't scared, she just kept saying "ugh, it's old, it's in black and white, and it doesn't look real". said but it was made in 1933, they'd only just invested cameras and stuff. she wasn't buying any excuses though. kids 2day. then i put on an old Herbie film from '77 and she's like "dad, this is from olden times, it's not the same as Herbie Fully Loaded". bless her!. I blame the parents (ok well, me!, busted), the kids aren't scared by games like Doom, Quake or whatever and not many films scare them either.
i'll let me 10 and 12 year old see it, they'll like it i'm sure, i just dont think it's something a 6 year old could handle. at least not mine, they are little girly girls and get scared easy.
Did anyone see The Adventures of Pluto Nash. One of the biggest box office flops ever. Had a budget of around $100 million and only managed to gross $5 million. Thank god I didn't see it.
no but i bought the dvd cheaply then read all the awful reviews about it. needless to say i don't have the dvd anyway and didn't watch it
this is not a new movie but in my opion the worst two movies i have ever seen would have to be #1: 2001 a space odyssey, this movie is the BIGGEST pile of BS that i have ever seen, it nearly drove me insane when i watched it, like the director gave a two year old some paints and said go wild <!> worst movie EVER... #2: Starship Troopers 2, placed on a SET unlike the first movie which i was not a big fan of but was better than no 2 another pile of BS... @darth, i read your post about giving your kids nightmares, tell them that story about crabs or WTF it was like you told us and it will haunt their dreams for the rest of their lives all jokes...
The worst movie that i've seen recently was "The Weather Man", I walked out at the middle of the movie and complained to the manager about how much it sucked And you know how they say complaining gets you no where? Well it got me somewhere with 2 free passes to see Harry Potter!
I havent seen any bad movies lately but by far the most depressingly boring and rubbish film i have ever seen was "perfect storm". it the only film ive ever fallen asleep watching at the flix.
@darth: i would go to sleep, but i'm too bored to do tht, plus it's winter break @doggy:I was going to go see weather man, guess not. @SypherTekerfect Storm was a long haul too, expecially the beginning and end. Overall I thought it was a moderately good movie, not great not sucky, just okay. Did anyone watch my favorite martian, that was like 5 years ago or something. really bad movie, and really stupid but i did sit through the entire thing.
Phantom69 - 2001 was a brilliant film, but i guess it's for an older generation. you gotta look at it like a learning experience, and not entertainment. kinda like napoleon dynamite, the first time i thought it sucked but the second time i saw it i went into it not expecting to be entertained more of like having something to make fun of and i loved it. i've watched it like 4-5 times since then and really enjoy it. LUCKY!!
I also saw the "Narnia" movie and I thought it sucked. Big time kiddie movie. There isn't enough in the story to stimulate an adult. It felt like an eternity watching it. I actually think I developed hemrrhoids by the end of the movie.
yeah i can appreciate that darth... it just felt as though i was going mentally unstable watching it... @ Evolution is a funny movie, i liked it lots... PS: has anyone ever seen the movies 'Support you local sherrif' and 'support your local gunfighter' i have to say that they are probably two of my favourite movies even though kids of my time don't even know who John Wayne is (pathetic isn't it) i have to say i love those two movies (particularly support your local sherrif) i think its funny how James Garner keeps the guy in the cell without any bars...
kong was way too long, and what the hell was that bit on the frozen lake all about? I dunno, all that monkey love was kinda sick! I played the xbox game and thought it was (this is gonna get me slated) better than Halo. Not as long but some of it was genuinly scary stuff which was matched by nothing in the movie. In the game you even feel the scale of just how big Kong is, which doesn't come across in the movie at all. the game is like a movie anyway, the other characters are a real part of the game and don't just follow you around, I would say skip the movie and play the game! other movies....40 year old virgin is hillarious (missed it at the cinema, got it on dvd)
