I have a problem that's driving me mad. I have just done my first build and, instead of being sensible and going for a normal IDE Hdd, I go for a Serial ATA. I've mananged to start it all up and load up Windows 98SE. However, I want to upgrade to XP and on getting a little way through the upgrade program the system came back and stated that there was a problem with Windows and to either remove the hard drive or hard drive controllers....make sure it's configured or run chkdsk/F. I've done all these and i can't seem to find a problem. Why does everything work fine in 98SE but not upgrading to XP.
If anyone can help me and guide me through this, it would be much appreciated.
    I'm running a 2.4Athlon XP
    256MB (PC3200)
    Seagate 80GB SATA drive
    Asus A7V8X Motherboard

(oh yeah and there's some RAID thing that keeps telling me to set Array through SmartBuild....whenever i remove this then I can't load 98SE either and have to reset it)

    Hope this makes sense.
    Thanks
