For starters you need EMU CCCAM 2.1.3 on all boxes to allow entitlement updates. The server box will contain all the necessary Flines in the cccam.cfg file. All the client boxes connecting to the server box will have Clines. So no it is not a simple matter of having exact copies but in reality the difference is minimal. You should also consider using an external SMargo reader rather than the internal dreambox reader as it will melt your card. If you do you need an extra line in the server cccam.cfg file to point out the external card reader to the dreambox

Kopkidda, I haven't tried it with connection to the router, i need to get two rj45's for the connection, i was trying to get the set up before i got those. Mickah i know you were not squabbling its a figure of speech, i was adding that i enjoy the banter that comes with the forum, so dont take it to heart, and Lenny i have read your instructions on how to setup the 500s, i find them very informative, so keep the instructions coming, i might get mine up and running some day,Kopkidda if you need to add feel free, happy new year to one and all, Where's fergie?

no worries mate, I aint sensitive in anyway! Have ya looked at homeplugs? They are plugs in which you can connect a lan box to your modem with out the need for cables,

so if yer tv and set up is in one room and your router is in another, you plug the homeplug into the powersocket, run a lan cable from the box and into the homeplug and plug the other homeplug into the powersocket beside yer router and a cable into the router from the homeplug, your now connected, no need for long cables etc, turns yer house wiring into a lan!

Handy if yer router is nowhere near yer TV

Have the homeplugs set up in my gaf myself, to be honest if I was to get them again I'd go for the 200MB ones as the 85 are a bit slow for streaming.

Actually someone put the link up on this thread for some cheap enough ones: http://www.ebuyer.com/product/160665

Don't know about the quality though.

So looking into buying the dreamboxes and setting something up for multiroom, probably going for these ones: http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.29102

Anyone have any good or bad experience with them?

I have a skyplus box and a regular box at home, I don't suppose I can do any CS off them? I saw something about Diablo??

Also will have to upgrade my satelite to output 8 instead of 4, is this a whole new dish??

One more thing (Sorry :) ) just wondering what is the risk of sky upgrading the cards and all of this being obsolete in the near future? I mean if I buy a couple of boxes and upgrade the dish I'd hope it would last a while!!!

no one can give anyone a guarantee on these things they last as long as they do.i suppose if you spend £400 pound and got all the channels available for 6 months to a year then you would have got a lot of value out of it.you cant cs off any sky box, you will need a dreambox, technomate or simmilar.a safer method might be to cs with 4 or 5 mates or family members rather than to give your cash or credit card details to some of these sites that can be dodgy.best of luck with it mate.

So I bought two Dream DM-Box DM500S from DealExtreme, hopefully they should arrive next week. Trying to find tutorials on how to just do a basic card share through the home plugs can't find much.

Hopefully they'll come pre installed with gemini and after that what do I need to install? Is it Cccam for Sky Ireland??

Then somehow switch on the card sharing on one and get the other box to pick up that card share??

Ya shur we'll see what happens, the boxes weren't too expensive, 100 eurons for two and will upgrade the dish.

Will definitely stay away from those sites anyways, not my cup of tea at all!!!

you will need a good image and the latest cccam version on both boxes, you have homeplugs so your ok. and you will need a computer and an ethernet crossover cable to connect to both boxes, and you will need to have dream control center downloaded to your computer as you need to edit cccam on both boxes.for info on editing cccam and getting clines etc you will have to use our good friend google, all you need is out there.

    Thanks for peoples patience!

you need 3 homeplugs for 2 dreamboxes, and the boxes from deal extreme are clones(still good boxes)but you will need a clone safe image. as for tuts maybe some one like cs kings, you will most likely have to register to view the threads and tuts but that will be free.

Nice one for that lenny and pipo, will check out those tutes out in a min.

Is there any difference between all the images? I mean functionality wise n that.

If I'm only sharing the card in the house I don't have to have the computer on the whole time or anything? One can transmit and the other receive?
