Mickah, once again you are correct. Its not about casting stones, its about sharing your credit card details with gangsters. cs is totally illegal and doing it amongst friends or using a share server is illegal. i am really trying to get the point across that with minimum effort (just a little reading of the threads) it is very simple to set up a secure friends share. instead many of the users are putting themselves at extreme risk by using shares run by people they have no knowledge of. worst of all they must supply all of their card details to such dodgy sources. so I in no way disagree with you, i just ask the forum members make some effort to understand what they are working with

and to the typical request from carrickro i can give a simple answer to this, which i have given many times over to other users who have set up personal shares, but i simply couldn't be bothered supporting users who will likely get fleeced by these gangsters.

if carrickro does not want to read my posts on how to set up a simple personal share and wishes to instead share his credit card details with these crooks, then i will not support this behaviour with advice. the share company want the business and if carrickro wants to do this i will not be at fault when his credit card identity gets stolen

i havent started yet fint mate ,i will take a look at v1 and do a bit of studying .i know the other stuff thats easy enough but v1 seems hard .so i will do my homework and then give it a try ( i have to say tho that its new to me) but i hate to fail so i will try. if you can help me with any info as to how you went about it ,it would be great . however i think it may be a step to far for me . but i will give it a good try.

Right, I've been thinking for the past couple of hours whether to send this message so here goes. Unless you feel absolutely necessary, please don't shoot me down.

I have a dreambox 500s with a sly viewing card. I've read all the manuals (provided on this site and others) and from what I can gather I would be able to view sub channels if I connect to or setup my own cardshare server.

I have been trying for a week to set my own up but failed miserabley. It's got to a stage now where I don't know what I'm doing and feeling very frustrated.

Box has the latest gemini firmware, camd and cccam config installed from the gemini server. I think I'm not editing the cccam config correctly but am in limbo at present.

I need to know the following:

    1) what do i need to edit in the cccam config file?
    2) what do i need to do to view the premium channels?

I hope someone can help me out. I'm honestly not being lazy but genuinely do need assistance.

balcee, i'm trying to understand your config. lets take your dm500. can you view all channels on this box. lets start with that. you have a valid card in the dm500 so before you share you must first get all channels open in your main dm500 box. have you achieved this

Lads I'm just trying to get the card sharing going with multiple DM500s at home.

    Here's the server cfg

#This config was created using the Dreambox Config Creator.
    #Designed & Written by B16MCC
    SERVER LISTEN PORT : 12000
    SMARTCARD CLOCK FREQUENCY : /dev/sci0 3430000
BOXKEY : /dev/sci0 XX XX XX XX
    F: root root 3 1 1 { 0:0:3 }

    Here's the client cfg

#This config was created using the Dreambox Config Creator.
    #Designed & Written by B16MCC
    SERVER LISTEN PORT : 12000
    SMARTCARD CLOCK FREQUENCY : /dev/sci0 3430000
BOXKEY : /dev/sci0 XX XX XX XX
    C: 192.168.1.114 12000 root root
    F: root root 3 1 1 { 0:0:3 }

So works fine on one client but when I try and set up another client no joy!!!

Do I need to set up the cfg a different way??

Ok for starters server is ok. Client does not require

as client does not have card. also all lines are on server unless you re-sharing on client also. client just needs
    SERVER LISTEN PORT : 12000

but this is just for an inernal share. otherwise the cline must be setup via dyndns using a dynamic account.
so please explain. are u trying to setup an internal or external share

in the server cccam.cfg you need to set up a seperate F: line for the second box,you can use any user and password just make it different to the other F: line .say F:share2 box2 3 1 1 {0:0:3} .

Ya going for an internal share, 1 server DM500 to multiple client DM500

Good to know the server is ok, so I have that added in, ftp'ed it to /var/etc/ of the client at 192.168.1.114 and when I check the CCCam Info it finds 1 server with

    -OFFLINE- 192.168.1.114 - 0 Cards

    BALLS!!!

Is it anything to do with my home network?? Each box can connect online ok.

Or is it anything to do with the boxes, can they only accept one connection or something??

are all your cables connected up correctly gary, check the router ha a light on for each ethernet connection and see if you can see a little light inside the dreambox (where the ethernet cable connects) you can see it through the vents . if all is ok there then maybe you have a conflict of ip addresses or mac addresses ,all devices connected to the router must have a different ip ,that includes your computer and the router . check the boxes ips by going in to menu and communication setup. to check the mac addresses you need to open dream control center and under the dreambox picture enter in the dreambox ip and click on reconnect nnow go in to telnet and type ifconfig and press enter ,here you will see the mac address it looks like 00:21:34:1a:2b:67 write down the mac address and repeat the above for each box .if two mac addresses are the same the box wont share so it will need to be changed .
