If you are only starting out, I would suggest the cheapest box, (DM500S for around 80 euro).

fla1101 what kind of budget do you have for a box ,i mean if your on a very small budget the dm500s would cost only about €60 if you shopped around ,as sg8 says its also a good box for a newbie . if you have a bigger budget there is the spiderbox as hooter says or the vu+duo ,there are a few good dreamboxes out there such as the dm800hd or the dm500hd .if you simply only want to watch tv channels and are not bothered with the hd channels the dm500s will suffice. however as a newbie its probably best to get the dm500s and learn what needs to be learned and then move up to a dm800 or a spider box etc.

Piopat, where can you get the DM500S for 60 euro?? The cheapest I can ever find is around 80 (delivered to Ireland)?? and can nearly get a TM500 for that price now, but if I could get another DM500S for 60 I would !!

I think they are all clones nowadays, but I still cant find one for that price delivered to Ireland.

yes the price i gave of around €60 is a clone dm500s and p+p is extra ,and it would be coming from asia. and as always people need to be aware that buying from asia has its risks. your 100% correct there sg8 about €80 with p+p.

the above link is only to show people the kind of price range for the various clone dreamboxes, and is in no way a recommendation of the company.

Thanks for that Piopat, thought I was the only one who could not get them for 60 euro!!!

There are a few sellers on amazon.co.uk that sell them and it works out around the same price ( 80 euro delivered to Ireland ).

    Finally got my box going.

Got a test cline say's I'll get all sky channels but I can't seem to get any xxx channels even though their part of the deal.

    How do I do it?

Picking up loads of channels but most are the same.

Using Pli image and cccam 2.1.4

if you have all the sly channels including movies/sports the c line is working ok. the only adult channels on the sky sat are tvx the adult channel and other softcore channels (if your server says you should have these channels send him a pm) however if you mean the hardcore channels such as sex view and red hot etc they are on hotbird 13 east .

Hey guys, got my dm500s today, from Hong kong,70 euro to the door.Totally new to sat, just getting ready for the last of my channels to disappear (Southern Ireland). Please correct me if Im wrong,
1/ Ive got a sky mini dish & dm500s,I point my dish at Astra 2?.
2/ Do I have to flash my box ? I think it came with the enigma image, not sure?.
3/ Im only interested in having something to look at for when my channels go,so free to air will do for now,Iwill get these on the 500s?
Like Piopat says, when I find my way round this box, maybe I'll upgrade and until then I will just read what ye guys are up to.

Will you post the link to where you bought it ??

The image on it should be fine for FTA channels, once it is not in chinese!!

as sg8 says as long as the image is not in chinese (which can be the case )it will do fine and give you all the free to air stuff .for anything else you will need to connect the box to your router and install cccam .as sg8 said can you post a link to where you bought the box ,as alot of people are looking for a reliable place to buy dreamboxes.

Not just them though. Don't have channels Men and Motors, RTE,TV3 to name a few.

Do I jsut do a scan on 13E? Then I lose my 28E channels?

If your dish is pointing at 28east you will only pick up channels from that satelite. If your dish is not pointing at 13east, you will not pick up anything by scanning on on that setting.

The missing channels may not be part of your CS server, you would need to confirm that with whoever you got the C LINE from.

Unfortunately you seem to have miscalculated your pricing, as the price is not '70 euro to the door', as the customs will most likely take a look at it first and add on 21% (plus a handling fee).

But you MIGHT get lucky and it may avoid customs and come straight to your door!!, but don't be suprised if it doesn't!!!

I guess I got lucky so,the company valued the box at 20euro,maybe thats why.Once the price goes over a certain amount, they catch you,I think. I bought a multi meter before for $60 and I did get caught for that.
