Yes only one box needs a sly card(the server)all other boxes connected to server only need a c line.

Good question and to be honest I don't know but, I would imagine that the friend who has the dm800 would recieve the HD channels once the server has an active sly hd package, but as said I don't know for sure, Piopat, Fintanni or SG8 might be able to offer you a better answer.

Hi, Just paid a guy for my dreambox 500s to receive all sly channels. I don't have any clue how this box works but according to him all channels should come. The problem i am having is I can watch some channels but not all-mainly asian channels. The channels that dont work display "this service doesn't currently send a signal". Tried to contact him but couldn't. I'll really appreciate any suggestion and help.

the question makes no sense. if you have a dm500 (hd incapable) why would you as a server wish to supply hd to others without being allowed to do so yourself. however yes it is of course possible. at the end of the day all you are doing is supplying decryption information. the dm500 can supply this information as easily as a dm800. so yes, you as a dm500 server are only allowed to watch sd channels while your clients can watch hd channels. the only proviso is that you have a hd subscription card in your dm500. remember all your are doing is passing encryption information over the internet. your box has no idea what type of information is being delivered, it just delivers what is requested, ONCE IT HAS THE AUTHORIZATION TO SUPPLY IT

I would go back to the guy you paid, as it sounds like the box aint set up correctly or your not getting a full service, so I would chase the guy you paid

rescan, i problem persists is because the wrong satellites.xml file is loaded in /var/etc/. you rescan using the menu buton, go to setup, go to satellites and transponders and do an automatic scan

My mate got a dreambox and its working perfect on shy, haven't got a clue what server he's using. My question is, if i buy a dreambox, can i communicate it with his box to recieve the channels aswel? I already have a shy dish outside my house and also have broadband too...

Hi,i just got a DM500s and im trying to RF it through out the house, but from searching on google it says the RF on the back of the box doesnt work and you have to use the scart..
is this true and what is the best way to RF the picture and sound through out the house?

terry the only way you can share your mates channels are if he has his own sky card or if he is using a c line (which is more likely ) the c line would need to be open for resharing ,if he got the c line from a payserver it wont be open for resharing .

dundalk if your wanting to view satellite in other rooms around the house your best off getting a few cheap fta recievers and a quad lnb ,the only other way with a dm500 is as you to use the scart connection for the tv nearest the box and the red and white sockets with a long cable going to tv number 2 which is far from ideal.

    thanks piopat,
its so annoying,i was told I could RF it.I used to have a digivox-t,all you had to do was put the coax in the rf and from there into the splitter and bingo..

does the medialink black panther have a simple coax RF out?
