rooney, i'll be darned. i have searched high and low for a solution to this problem. just checked and you are spot on. so i checked out why this should work and it seems that at the races has changed frequency from 10876, polarization Verical, symbol rate 22000, FEC 5/6 to frequency 12304, polarization horizontal, symbol rate 27500, fec 2/3 and the new transmission is now available on all linux based machines using cccam. great stuff. thanks for the information

Yes if you have your dish from sky, it is more than likely that it is pointing at 28.2
so all you have to do is follow Piopat's instructions, they could not be clearer, even i could follow them, and that's saying alot , still working on the 800 guys no Joy with the rep, for those whom have been good enough to respond, again thanks.

Can someone recommend what is the best type of Homeplugs to buy, also thinking of buying the Dreambox DM800 HD - clone (including Ferrari card), yes or no may go for the 8000 but will dip the toe in the water first. Not an expert when it comes to the technical sideof this stuff.

Have an old dish on the roof so hoping that will do me.

    Please forgive my ignorance.
Hope to use Piopats instructions once I decide on what box to get.

dan the image will be different on the dm800 and you have make sure the image has the same sim and bootloader as your box (if your box is sim 2.01 bl75 your image has to be the same )you flash the box the same way using dreamup (but a newer version is required )or you can flash the box via web browser .the difference between flashing with dreamup and web browser is the time it takes to flash ,dreamup may take as long as 40 minutes to flash a dm800 where as flashing via web browser will take a few minutes . as far as c and f lines and cccam everything is exactly the same .

I would STRONGLY advise to buy a cheap DM500S clone first and see how you get on with setting that up first.

No point in spending a fortune on a box that you end up struggling with and getting nowhere. At least if you get nowhere with the DM500S you are not too much out of pocket, and if you succeed then you should have no problem moving up to the more expensive boxes.

if you are thinking of spending on a dm8000, vu+duo far superior box for half the price. dream elite image is amazingly good. dm800 i have found to be utter torture. bottom line is that dream multimedia tuners are extremely poor quality so high def is very iffy

Can I add my tuppence halfpenny to what fintannl has already said, read some of my inputs
before you buy one of these boxes, maybe you will be luckier than me, I'm having terrible trouble with a company that i have bought several boxes from. 500s were ok, the first time I bought an 800 for myself, it went walbabout and it has not come back, this only after 6 days, I'm still chasing a new box from their rep.

can someone recommend the best(easiest) box to get started on? also if you could recoemmend somewhere reliable to purchase one?

Are there stable (cheaper) clones? I know a few hosts that can provide me logins for CS.

If i get that up and running i will upgrade to HD / recorder , I presume i can always move the first box to the bedroom?

I had a few DVBC boxes up and running before the N3 change over. Is the flashing/editing process similar with the sat boxes?

    thanks in advance

hi guys would i be right in thinking if i have 2 dm500 boxes setup in my house plugged into the same internet router 1 server box and 1 client box. the server F line is lets say F:example1 password1 and the client c line is C:dreambox.dyndns.ws 12000 example1 password1... this would be the same as having the client box in a seperate house

    thanks dan

    Is that aimed at me?

My server would be a mate down the road. Or a bloke in work not subscription.
