Shy Channels on sat with dreambox 500s

patrick84 bought one from the same crowd and i had the exact same problem,it turned out to be a faulty remote control got a lend of a mates one and it worked fine.they eventually replaced it but took nearly a month to get it.one orther problem i have is some of the stations want tune in all bbcs ,itvs,and various orther channels.hope this helps.

 

cheer but did you get any reaction from yours by pressing the standby button on the front of it i'm pressing it and the light just stays green not even a flicker out of it they have just emailed me saying pls update the machine what does this mean

 

Flash a new firmware onto it. If you can get it to connect to your router it will be easy enough. If not then you will need to use a null modem cable.

 

no ididnt get any reaction out of it light stayed green ,i also flashed it with a pli image didnt make any difference .can you get a lend of a remote off someone i think this is your problem (dodgy remote)

 

i got my box from the same shop today and its working fine..But when i plugged it in the green light came straight on.But i put gemmi image on and it was fine then

 

hi i have this problem with my dreambox i've been onto the crowd i bought it from they just keep telling me to update the dreambox i've done the dreamup bit does anyone have an idea what they are on about any ideas lads

try dreamup again, follow the guide here to the letter.

 

Would someone please PM a link to were they bought their dreambox 500S please. And also is there a detailed description of how to connect this Dreambox up to the sky dish and san for channels etc..

hi just been reading these comments my understanding is that i can use my existing dish that is fixed to my wall by a well known company just connect the dish to the dream box and then connect to the internet and then im more or less up and running is this correct

okie dokie why does the internet have to be connected though i would have thought they would be like the starview how do i configure the box to my router and what is the best way to go with the card share

Reading somewhere that you require a sky freesat card to use with your Dreambox 500S to receive sky channels using my existing sky dish, is this correct?

 

no mate as I told ya already, you connect the box directly to the dish and use CS or go FTA

 

and FTA wouldnt require anythign extra?no card no nothing?sorry if im repeating myself just want to be doubly sure before I take the jump.
