DXTBmp and Paint are very simple editing tools. You don't have to have photoshop to skin but it is better because of all the features it has. But back to the warthog. Just grab the warthog's bitmap, open it in DXTBmp and then send it to Paint. Then double click a color at the bottem and then click Define Custom Colors and using the color wheel and the bar find the gold you like. Grab the paint brush tool and start coloring the greenish color which is the frame. Then when your done, go to File and then Save and then maximize DXTBmp and then load after edit. It will pop up the edited one. Then click File, Save As.., DDS Texture and then save it as the format it was in DotHalo. Then once your done with that Inject it back into the map. Save the changes. Close DotHalo and open up Halo2IB and open up the map you were just editing and then locate the warthog bitmap you just edited. Click it and then click the Internalize button (Then a save changes button if there is one, can't remember). Then if it's an old map use something to fix the encryption or if it's a new map use a map resigner.

Yes you can do all that. Just if you edit a bitmap that's not a scenarios one then you need to internalize it with Halo2IB.

Ok well this really isn't the right thread to talk about this. You really should send me private messages but my gamertags are "x360x FuZ3" and "l PPF l FuZ3" I kind of stole the name FuZ3 from my friend that was his original gamertag. Then I started using it and have been since.

Yeah I followed this tutorial and it works like a charm :) ...
But I wote bitch on the cliffs in Sancuary. And I injected it onto dothalo but I din't FTP it to my xbox, I just did it as a test thingy to see if it worked, AND IT DID AWESOMELY!!! But now I forgot to make a backup of what the cliffs looked like before I skinned it, so now whenever I wan't to mod that map, I'm affraid that when I replace the map with MY modded map with some proj. swap or something, im afraid that the Bitmap with show up on the cliffs. http://www.metalcoremodz.com/ it is an awesome site with a really cool Golden Warthog skin if anyone wants the skin...

Well if you have a copy of the original map u can always use that and make sure you make a backup of all your original skins from that.

Some people don't have to delete the stuff in those folders and their skins work fine. For instance I haven't done it once and they work. I really don't know why some people have to and some people don't. I guess it just depends on your Xbox.

I think it also depends on what kind of linux OS they have since theirs so many different types out there. Theres really no way of telling how each one was programed and to do wat. So I you know lots of programing and have lots of useless time on your hands. Make ur own LOL.

Well you might not have to clear out those folders. Just try your mod without doing that and then come back if it failed.
