I'm getting the same problem. Some just start then freeze after a few seconds. (the point at which it freezes changes also)

Hi guys. I had a similar problem with my pioneer, apparently it's the mediatek chipset that can't handle packed bitstream properly, so it goes jerky.

The miracle cure is to download this little program

    http://www.softpedia.com/get/Multimedia/Video/Encoders-Converter-DIVX-Related/MPEG-Modifier.shtml

    open the file,
if the packed bitstream box is ticked, click on unpack, then click on the divx line (usually something like DivX999b000p )
click on edit, and change the p to an n (this doesn't make any difference what you change it to)

save as a different name, delete the original downlaod.

This only takes less than a minute, and has proved an absolute lifesaver when dealing with the latest downloads from US TV and such.

Of course, it may not matter soon with suprnova et al being shut down.....

I've got the same problem, but the divx I'm trying to play doesn't have a packed bitstream. Any other suggestions.
