Has nothing to do with your blank discs. Has everything to do with your burner. What kind of burner do you have?

What type of drive does your xbox have? Try here. http://www.llamma.com/xbox/Repairs/Images/DVDComparison.jpg

Some xbox drives are picky on what brand/type of media you use.

Have you ever tried using DVD Decrypter to burn the ISO? I'd give it a shot, IMO, easier to use than Nero, with better results.

Then don't use Nero. Try using DVD Decrypter.

do you even have a modchip installed? you need one to play backups becuase it sounds like nothing works for your drive! then burn with nero best with iso's try nero 6 though!

OK, need to start with the basics.

To find out what burner you have, open my computer, right click on your burner and choose properties. Then choose the hardware tab. You should see the brand name of your burner. (ie.. http://65.254.85.160/stuff/1.JPG )

The only time I have gotten any errors like power calibration or I/O errors is because I burnt like 10+ games, nonstop. A quick reboot fixed any errors. Also, a good defragging might be needed.

What drive is your xbox, check this link.. http://www.llamma.com/xbox/Repairs/Images/DVDComparison.jpg

What size is your Slayers ISO? The one I have is 367MB (385,220,608 bytes) and I just used it the other day and it works. (just the ISO, not the other crap in the folder.)

When using Nero, do you put the check mark in "finalize disc"? Do you burn at the slowest speed? When using DVD Decrypter, do you put a check mark in "burn proof"?

Heres a shot in the dark, but I'll ask anyways, did you un-RAR the slayers? Or did you just burn what you downloaded as-is??

It is possible that your xbox doesn't like cd-r(w) EVEN IF it's a Samsung.

If cd-rw won't work for you, then try a dvdr, or tweak your dvd rom drive.

I don't know about dvd+r on the samsung drive. I've used dvd-r to backup about 70 of my games with no problems. I use Ritek 4x or Maxell 4x media.......I wouldn't recommend Memorex media because it currently has about a 50 percent failure rate right now.

I think thats your problem. I think it's incomplete. I'd try to download another copy from a different source.

Go to eurasia.nu and register. Click the download section on the left side and then enter slayers in the search box. Slayers 2.6Final will be the first file in the list. Since it's a bittorrent file and not the actual iso that you need, download shareaza to locate the complete slayers iso file.
