    hello

my comp seems a bit slow after i have replaced the motherboard
dvd ripping takes a lot longer than normal and cpu only goes up to about 50-70%

    i have a intel celeron 345 (3.06ghz 533fsb) 512mb pc2700 ram running on a new gigabyte motherboard ga-81g1000mk

i was thinking it could be either

1 - overheating - i bought a cheapo heatsink to go with the motherboard

2 - bios settings - they seem a bit confusing , cpu host clock spped is disabled and stuck at 133? is this correct

my pc seems stable other than this - help please!

in the device manager, check to see if the dma is enabled on the ide drives.

yes i already read through all those threads
i have 2 dvd writer they are both showing as "dma if available"

the only thing i noticed was master is ultra dma mode 5 ,
slave is ultra dma mode 2, is this correct?

could it be the drivers for the ide channels? i have a legitimate xp with sp2 but the disk i used may have been old? they are

    driver version 5.1.2600.2180 date 1/7/2001

i will look on microsoft.com to see if i can find out if they r upto date
