I've seen no report of it handling the new Batman movie, so I'll hold my breath and hope that it handles it without a further update. I now have three update setups on my desktop from updating to 6.4.9.0 via the betas. I also hope that Loco won't ban me after Monday's loss of the Bucs to the Panthers. Hmm, Batman and the Panthers being in first place on Tuesday morning, life is sweet.

 

well we might not have to wait for SAW V looks like the batman has its run right now with the encryptions... when does the darkknight come out here in the states???? and how come i didnt get my email for the anydvd update today?

 

Dark Knight is out next Tuesday. Wanted is out tomorrow.

 

Just wanted to pass this on: For anyone on the fence about purchasing Anydvd. They might be implementing a change in their update policy.

Here is their announcement:

Since Slysoft's beginnings in 2003, all Slysoft product licenses have
been sold with free product lifetime updates included. While standards,
technologies and SlySoft's product range have changed significantly
since 2003, only now has Slysoft's free lifetime update policy been
reviewed with respect to converting to an annual subscription fee format
for new license purchases.

According to SlySoft CEO Giancarlo Bettini, this change is justified and
will ensure first class products and future development:
"Our portfolio already contains eight products, and there is another
program in the pipeline. Each product is continuously being enhanced by
first-class developers; each product gets 24/7 top-notch multilingual
support. Our premises became a bit crowded in the last couple of years,
and, to be honest, we may not have reached our limits yet. Something
needs to be done in order to not only ensure Slysoft's continued
commitment to excellence but to also promote future improvements:
namely, growth and development. With respect to current financial
challenges the current economy presents, modifying our update policy
seems to be the only fair and reasonable step in lieu of a substantial
price increase. Details are yet to be determined and will follow."

In fairness, SlySoft announces this probable step well in advance of its
implementation in order to provide all interested parties with the
opportunity to purchase SlySoft products with guaranteed lifetime free
updates. Those buyers who act quickly during this time can also save an
additional 20% with the special ongoing Christmas promotion.

AnyDVD-latest update- handled Wanted and Narnia with no problems.

lifetime updates to an annual subscription fee. All license purchases
made before January 1st, 2009 will not be affected by this change; as
promised, all licenses purchased before 2009 will still be honoured
under Slysoft's free lifetime update policy.

SlySoft announces this step in advance in order to provide its customers
with the choice between the old and new licensing model. Buyers who act
quickly can get an additional discount with the current ongoing special
promotion.

Until Wednesday, December 31 2008 Slysoft offers a 20% discount on all

I/we should probably buy anydvd HD if we don't have it

 

Never will be cloning BluRays. Blanks are prohibited in price. The best I will do is get a BR player and buy a few blockbuster BluRay movies. Maybe!! Gotta get a lot cheaper. There will always be DVDs for the near future. BluRay not so popular; so far even tho it's about the only thing that outputs true 1080p. Cable or OTA stations don't! PS3 or player only. My blockbuster has two five foot shelf spaces dedicated to BR.

 

well all i got to say to that is, glad i bought mine 2 1/2 years ago. best $25 i spent. tbh im suprised it lasted this long before something like this happened.
so yea people better jump on board now to get the free lifetime updates..

 

yeah Buddy !!!!! - I'm thinking Maybe I oughta Update to Anydvd-HD before the months up ? I don't have a blu-ray player or burner yet but will get one eventually and then I won't have to pay the subscription price I'll be paid up like my anydvd is now right ?
