something must have been dropped on my ipod because my screen now has a black patch on it which looks like leaked ink underneath the screen.you can just make out a crack which seems to be on a second screen underneath the outer screen.the ipod works fine but most of the screen is now not visible.its still under its warranty so i go on the site to find out how to send it in for repair and i come across this:

    (from http://depot.info.apple.com/ipod/)

[bold]If your iPod's LCD display is cracked due to accidental damage, do not send your iPod in for service. Coverage for this type of damage is excluded under Apple's Limited Warranty for iPod and AppleCare Protection Plan for iPod, and service is not available under the terms of Apple's Repair Terms and Conditions.[/bold]

so that sucks.wtf do i do now?!

no im not pointing out Apple to be the cause of it.im pointing out that they refuse to replace/repair products still under warranty with or without a fee.

Would u want to fix something that wasn't ur fault? Apple would be losing money becasue more people would have broken screens.
    BTW- what ipod's screen broke?

Warranty is not [bold] insurance [/bold]. Very different things. Everything else about the iPod will be fixed for free more or less, and if you find a nice salesperson at a store they might just exchange yours for a new/used one. Don't complain about Apple, no ones going to replace something that is your fault. It isn't even as if they changed policies on you, it's been the same the entire time.

If you didn't buy it from apple, say you bought it at best buy, put it in the box and bring it in and say the battery doesn't hold charge anymore. Might work.

That would be moronic to do with BestBuy, they'll "repair" it again and again.

go out and buy a new one

then swap the new one for yours - as long as its in a good condition (othr than your screen)

take it back and tell them you opened it and it was broken

i did that with my ps2 that i broke the draw on

    most likely illegal but still
