Claudio has been kicked out of Chelsea, confirmed a few minutes ago. They havent said if it is Mourinho replacing him, but everyone expects it to be.

Come on Cruz Azul.....get to the final :-D

Manchester United is the biggest sports club in the world and the richest, richer than any of the American ones, so i see no reason if America did became big contenders in World Soccer, that they would become a new superpower in the sport. The top footballers want to play in Europe, palces like England, Spain and Italy. Even the top Argentinians all come to these countries.

After waiting (virtually) all season for a new appointment at Spurs, what happens?. Yes, yet another effing french *astard manager!!! Jacques Santini has been appointed. I wonder how many months he will last?..4?..7?.a season?

I am now offcially giving up with Tottenham & need to die ASAP!! Will anyone lend me a loaded gun with at least 2 bullets? (i am bound to shoot myself in the foot with the first bullet, typically like Tottenham)

Top 6 by xmas?...pigs might fly, bacons going up.

Veron to Inter, Mourinho wields the axe. That bloke came in with some attitude, looks like the english press will have a field day if things go wrong. It should make excellent viewing next year. 21 outfield players for a top english team?..dont think so matey..he's gonna learn the hard way..fast.

Chelsea Man utd will be fun to watch, Fergie dont like that fella

Yeah - he really dont like him lol

More recent news is the crap that Man United are interested in signing the aging Oliver Kahn, according to his Dad??? Why the hell would we want him? Cant figure it out myself.

Oliver Kahn is..well was a top goalie, but surely Tim Howard is good enough..well I think he is. Perhaps fergie feels he needs more experience for the top european games. Howard looked a little shaky in the champions league when the pressure was on.

Fancy having a poll on how many French players spurs will have next year?. I am guessing about 4 or 5.

    Here comes the speculation already:
    http://www.skysports.com/skysports/article/0,,7-1138212,00.html

Fabien Bartez was a solid world class keeper, but yet, look at his performance against Real Madrid last season (as in 2002/03) in April against Real Madrid. He let in two goals which he shouldnt have. I feel if Fabien had of been better, or we had a different keeper, it may have been a different story. Especially considering we hit the woodwork 3 different times in that match, + Casillas is the luckiest keeper in football lol.

We dont want the has-been Oliver Kahn, he was excellent in his day, but it would be a bit like buying David Seaman or something...We have two star keepers, Roy Carroll and the slightly better Tim Howard.

God..thanks for the link Oriphus. That really spoiled me lunch. Wiltord at Tottenham?..pass the double barreled.

I think utd should go for Santiago Canizares of Valencia. He is a top performer, in my opinion, and would do a good job. I can't really believe that you honestly need another goalie.

Canizeras is a real top keeper, and has style lol. But...we looked at him last year and then decided to buy Howard. I dont know why, maybe it was money or something, but Howard seems to be a great buy in my opinion. He has lightning fast reactions and has saved our asses on numerous occasions. Iker Casillas i think is the luckiest keeper in the world....everything that bounces of him, goes safe!!! lol - just looka t our game against them last April :D

Anymore links i find to enlighten your day lol, ill sent them your way :D

hey guys and girls - im back from Majorca. Did you all watch all of the matches of Euro 2004 so far. I watched them all in Majorca (while drunk mostly) and i have to say, that i think germany look the most solid as a team. Were unlucky to have drawn with Holland, one great goal from RvN.

On the England Penalty miss, Beckham couldnt really have hitten it any better, it was just a fantastic save by Bartez. To be honest, Steven Gerards backpass was really stupid, but also, David James didnt inspire much confidence in me.

Swedens victory was very good. Henrik Larsson proves once again that his goals should be counted in the world rankings even though all the critics say he plays in the ****ty SPL. I think that his diving header goal has to be one of the best of the tournaments so far. It was truely amazing,a nd his second a minute later was cracker too. However, people will probably say that Zidanes goal for France was better, but to be honest, David James was standing in the complete wrong place for that free kick, so i dont think so.

Italy's draw was surprising. Also, i felt that the French, after being 2-0 up were going to run away with last nights match, but croatia did very well to get back in it. Again Silvestre gives away a stupid penalty. Englands win was great, but i see croatia putting up a good fight......

Spain only drew which was surprising, and Portugal got their needed win. Latvia played extremely well, and i felt outplayed czechs, but they failed to take their chances and eventually, the czechs got back in it to win.

Im really looking forward to Italy and Sweeden tonight, should be a great match. If Sweden win that it would be fantastic

I have seen every game so far & there does not seem to be one outstanding team in the tournament. It seems to be up for grabs.

The Spanish have really impressed me, especially Vicente down the left wing & with Raul & Morientes upfront they seem very strong. But they have to play Portugal & avoid defeat! I think that may well turn out to be the game of the tournament. I have a sneaking that Spain will egde Portugal. The energy that Spain play with (in that heat) is outstanding.

Greece have really surprised me. I think they may well beats Russia & win the group (potentially Englands next opponents in the quarter final??)

I was very impressed with Germany against Holland (My pick for the title). Germany were so solid & well organised. Don't be surprised if germany reach the semis (at least).

I have not been impressed with Italy, they played poorly in their opener against Denmark & went totally negative against Sweden, in the second half, & got what they deserved.

England, I feel have been lucky. They had an awesone defensive game plan against France & then gave it away in the last few minutes. I think they got what they deserved. The Swiss game was a good result (in that heat!!) but did nothing to convince me that they will go much further in the tournament. Most people have jumped on the Rooney bandwagon, but the player I feel that has contributed most is Sol Campbell in defence, the guy looks awesome. If Steven Gerrard & Michael Owen (remember him?) can hit some real form against Croatia, England should avoid defeat.

I can't wait for the knock out stage when the drama really takes off.

I agree that the Spain v Portugal will be a massive match in the tournament. I also agree that spain have that something extra that Portugal lack. Ok, Portugal have Figo and Ronaldo who are excellent attackers on either side, but Spains Juaquim and Morientes and Raul and Extebera (spelt well wrong lol) and Cassilas and Carlos Puyol and on and on are just so strong. Any team would be proud to have them in their side.

I think the reason that Greece are performing so well is down to the fact they play football in weather so much hotter than that a lot of the year, so by now they must be used to it. I am hoping for Sweden to progress in the competition and id also really like to see Holland doing well, even go as far as to say win the title....

    Oriphus.

I mentioned in my previous post that I thought Germany may go to the semi's. After watching them against latvia I have to change that verdict. I could not believe how unimaginative the Germans were and their front line looked so weak. I have a feeling that the Germany vs Czech rep game next week may see the final demise of the Germans. The thing is, where do they go from here?. It may be a long time in the wilderness for them.

I am really rooting for Holland tonight. If they get eliminated the tournament, as a whole, will suffer.

Funny you mentioned certain Spanish players. When you add Valleron, Fernando Torres, Aldelda to the lineup it really looks awesome. Is Michel Salgado in the squad?. I think if he was in the team, Spain may well be favourites.

Just a quick mention of France. They seem to be using all their luck up too early. Also being a Spurs fan I am very worried about the lack of Manager communication, from the sideline from Santini. He does seem to be a very quiet operator.

Salgado is in it, i forgot to mention F. Torres, excellent young prospect, though he only really starts as a sub. Valleron of course is an amazing player. The Germans were pretty pathetic during that match with Latvia. Im really really hoping that Czech beat them.

After watchin the Czech v Holland match, were Holland were narrowly beaten 3-2 by the Czechs, i think it easily has to have been the best international game i've watched in a long time and certainly the best game of this tournament. Sooo many candidates for man of the match, including Nedved and Davids, but i think the small Barcelona man should really get, though both Van Der Sar and Czech had amazing games in nets. Im really disappointed with the referees decision to send off Heitinga when it was clearly a dive by Nedved, but hopefully Uefa will overturn that decision and he will play in their next match. Also, as soon as Arjen Robben went off, the whole game changed. It lost momentum i think.

Overall, what a performance that leaves Czech Republic through to the last 8 and very serious contenders for the title with the performance they gave there today. We need the Czech republic to beat Germany and the Holland team to beat Latvia. If Holland dont win, they are out, unless of course if germany win, then they are out. I really hope the Czechs atleast hold them to a draw, as id love to see both the Czechs and the Dutch in the last 8.

    Ideal last 8 for me:

    Spain
    Greece
    France
    England
    Italy
    Sweden
    Holland
    Czech Republic

Lets cross our figners (unless you disagree)
