well, i've heard that some ppl don't even need to adjust it. :/ so there's a chance that you won't have to... and if you do, opening up the cube doesn't look that hard--i'm soft-modding mine since I'm totally freaked out about sodering and whatnot for a modchip. what we're doing seems a LOT easier.

dude, could you give me the link to that? i'll look into it and if you get launcher sooner and grab some of those fuji discs, let us know how it turns out.

can anyone here make a video/or explain how to do the POT adjust like how much counter clock-wise?because i heard you have to turn it 1/8 of a fraction but.....i always thought it's too much because also on another site(the one POT adjustment tutorial posted here)says a one minite turn can mean 100s drop/gain which means 1/8(of what i think)is too much

yea i know but he made it higher(made his POT ohms higher ex.200 now to 300.thats easier then making it stronger(a.k.a. read backups).making it stronger is hard because you can damage it easily and twisting the laser POT(clockwise)of how he did it in his clip,is WAY too much(for me cause a minute turn seems like a clock's 1 min until 5 min number comes,if not tell me) to make the laser stronger(counter-clockwise)so do you have to turn how he did in his clockwise clip but reverse,in counter clockwise?please tell me im worryed ill mess up

well if i did manage to get my cube open id be a blind mouse because i wouldn't have that multimeter. i should just hope that 2 turns anticlockwise is enough. And another thing, I don't have the required things to order stuff online anyway. Most use cc, some use paypal. I have no cc and a paypal account with no money. That's why I always resort to freebie sites. Srsly though, the amount of things covering up the POT that we have to get to is a little too much. Of course it seems easier compared to soldering but you have to experience it first to know it. Is there no way to make the games run off the sd card? That would save tons of money on discs while sacrificing the time it'll take to transfer my backups from pc to card. If the POT is the laser then why cant we just turn it from the disc tray?

yea theres a way but it sucks..most games are PAL that work, multi disk games arent supported,LOTS and Lots of problems with which sd....everyones diff.like someone has kingston someone got the same but didnt work and it can only fit 1 game for gc if you get 2gb,1gb is possible but hard to shrink into MB's and it sometimes fails if you shrink it.I say softmoding is more worth it(even the risk)because then you can play multi disks games(in beta still since 2005 because of bugs but works with RE0 RE1 REmake AND ITS A DIFFERENR gcos if you want me to,ill upload it)NOt that much bugs no more(since there is GCOS 1.5 FINAL(which you can get a replacement case(about 20-30 bucks and its worth it because you can fit about 1-7 games insted of buying mini dvd's and i think it supports DVD-DL.)))So you see its much much better to do GCOS style beause SD kind is still_well not really on other versions)beta and the old versions cant een support good games...trust me

Well it's worth the try. I mean if I just can't see myself being able to open my console up then I gotta use it to play my backups. Please upload it.

okay your call it'll be confusing but you'll get it and also you need to be a member but its free and there is other homebrew stuff for GC/WII

    link:http://www.tehskeen.com/forums/showthread.php?t=6071

also you'll need:sd adaptor(ex.sd gecko),gamecube or wii(i think wii supports it),sdload(the dol file kind NOT the iso kind),then sd-boot on that link

note:it MIGHT not work directly on sdml(means that you cant just put the dol file then run it because lots of people said it doesnt work for some reason and the creator(emu_kidid) is trying to realse 0.4 sd boot final but it will take long but there is betas around there and he also said sdml has problems booting up sd-boot directly because of something message him or something remember his name is emu-kidid,the creator or helper of GCOS,sd-boot,))but you still need sdml to use sdload

good luck and read more about the sd-boot 0.3 and some people will help you out

p.s. im on that site,i signed up so my name is wiifreak101 so you can contact me also.alright?

    GOOD LUCK

thanks. uh what about turning the pot from the disc tray. The POT is the lens right? So wouldn't just turning it from the tray work too? Oh and uh where can I get a 4 gb sd card? All the stores that have 4 gb say its sdhc which is uncompatible with sdml.

well then what about this? You are telling me that the pot and laser are 2 different things? Then why do people refer to the laser as the pot and vice versa if they are different. I mean if they are the same then just turn from the disc tray providing you feel lucky that you won't crank it up to high of course.

well i dont know about the laser specs or what people say but about the sd card....it doenst say sdhc on memory type and/or on the front cover...but then im worried that its still sdhc but you can try because that doenst have sdhc sign on it also you can post a fourm on tehskeen.com(which is the place where sd-boot is)and tell people if its a sdhc card

well they said that sdml disc doesn't support sdhc but the adapter does and so does the sdboot homebrew. They said load sdboot from normal sd then swap for sdhc.

no i mean like when you put the games in it and what sdhc card supports 0.4 betas,0.3 sd-boot doesnt support sdhc so just get 0.4 sd boot beta

lol. still doesn't sound confusing. prob the only difficult part would be getting a sdhc compatible card. well sandisk never fails so i guess i'll go with that.
