My Suggestion is that the TSOP is flashed which in any case you need a certain tool to reflash along with the xbox kernel bios...something hard to find...it has to be version specific too..buy a refurbished one
Didn't you say there was an option to start with the normal MS dashboard? Why not try that? Also, if you HAVE to play online, go to www.xbconnect.com. This is like xbox live but free, and not hosted by MS.
