softmod?

    What is softmod. Is it really modding with out a chip? or did i miss understand something.

    no you did not misunderstand. Softmodding gives you the ability to almost do all the same stuff as you can with a mod chip but it's free of course. It's just a little more difficult to do but noot really. Go to xbox-scene.com and check out their tutorials on softmodding there. It basically uses a software exploit so that your xbox can run unsigned code

    all depends on the softmod too.

    are there mods with more features than others?

    Well all mods whether soft or hard give you the abiliity to basically do the same thing and that is to run unsigned code. The main difference between a softmod and a hard mod as far as features are concerned are the mod chips have lots of built in features that you can't get with a softmod. For instance the ability to format you hard drive or to copy your hard drive to a larger one for an upgrade. They are also easier to use when it comes to shoosing which dash you want to load on startup and so on depending on the bios you choose. All softmods are basically the same though. The features you integrate into you softmod are entirely up to you anyway as is when you have a mod chip. What goes onto you hard drive you must put on it. modchip just makes that part a lot easier to do.
