Softmodding an Xbox Tutorial

hey, i loaded up mechassualt and stuff but it says "unable to load <run Linux> Press A to continue" I havent tried using it for splinter cell but if you guys could help me plzzz

 

have you guys thought of just paying someone to mod your xbox for you?

 

I was wondering if this would work on a japanese system? the reason I ask is because I have the japanese halo 2 system and so I wanted to know if this would work with it?

 

oh and another thing, is it possible to connect my xbox to my computer with an ethernet cord? and i want to have mods for halo 2 not mechassault/splinter cell

ok im gettin more lost the more i try to continue, idk where the Ldots ltools Package v1.7.5 is and where to get it, i keep hearing people say mirc but im not that smart with like cpus and stuff, i just have basic knowlegde and what not. i have my xbox stuff

i install the linux file to mechassault, i try to load it and it cant load the profile. if i try it on splinter cell it takes me to a help screen that says 21 at the top and in tons of languages. and idk how the hell to get evox

 

OK, the reason mechassualt wasnt working is because i had a newer version of it, so i guess i need help with splinter cell then, but if i get this to work can i mod in halo2?

OKAY EVERYONE PLEASE READ THIS CUZ THIS IS THE LAST TIME I'M ADDRESSING THIS QUESTION - To change your IP from Static to DHCP go into the Evox settings menu, and where it says Static IP, change it to DHCP. Save and exit, then reboot your Xbox and you will have FTP access. You can only FTP to your Xbox from the dashboard. You cannot FTP while a game or program is running, you must be at the dashboard menu!

 

do u turn off the static 1 because I can't select the actual static ip? and also how do you do this flash and map editor thing

 

@franker2 - I don't think you understanding what softmodding is...you need to read some on www.xbox-scene.com or something....
