From the basic, consumer DVD-authoring software in my price range ($50-70), can someone recommend which they think is better: Roxio Easy Media Creator, Nero, Pinnacle, Ulead, or some other? I want to burn AVI files to DVD. I don't want to worry about settings (bit rate, frame size etc.)--I want the software to do it for me, even though I lose some control. I want to be able to insert chapter points and insert text at the very beginning of the clip (to display the date of the home movie). I would also like to do basic editing of MPEG-2 files (cut out scenes of old home movies that are best left forgotten). Any insight is appreciated! (I have Sonic MyDVD already, but it only burns to VCD--is it worth the upgrade to the DVD-burning version?)
Hi there, If you wish to convert AVI, MPG, WMV files to DVD format, try VSO DivxToDVD. It's still free, and very very easy to use. http://www.vso-software.fr/download.htm As for adding text to your DVD project, I have no idea on that. If you are going to spend money or a few software, buy Nero Burning Rom, and AnyDVD (http://www.slysoft.com) if you are going to backup your DVDs. My 2 cents worth !
