I have a bunch of CDRs (TDK Metallic 48x) that refuse to play on my Tosh. I have other TDK 48x (D-View I think) that work ok. I'm very familiar with the incompatibilities of DVD burning, but I wasn't aware of any difficulties burning CDs. Are problems like this usually related to the media or the burning method ? I'm using Nero 6.

I've got the same media (TDK Metallic 48x). Mine are manufactured by Taiyo Yuden, I burn them at 8x speed (audio CDs) and never had any playback problems on standalone devices. It's a common problem though, that some media/burning speed/standalone player combination don't work.

I tend to always burn at max speed so these would have been done at 32 or 48x. I will drop the speed and see if that solves it. Thanks for your help.
