I've noticed when playing some files in mediaplayer, if I flick through their time bar a couple of times, they then start playing back at sort of 2x speed?

The only way of stopping this is to close the clip, and then to start again. After a couple of moves though, the clip playback gets sped up again though.

    Any ideas?

I have had this before with media Player and I believe it happens when the Video Buffer gets Full...
Don"t know how to fix it accept I notice it happens with me when I have other apps running at the same time....

If it only happens with Mpeg files with you them maybe install some DVD Player software which is made for Playing Mpeg files as Media player doesn"t display Mpeg files correctly anyways because it ignores aspect ratio flags in Mpeg files...
Try something like WinDVD or PowerDVD....
