someone please help me with doom 3

i have a problem with doom 3 because when i play it suddenly hang. i have to restart the computer. can anyone tell me what my problem is? please help me, thank you.

 

More info would help: Genuine copy or Backup? Do you use XP or Win 2000? What Graphics card? Do you have the latest graphics drivers and DirectX 9.0 capabilitys?

 

i use windows xp with radeon 9600. i encounter with this problem with theif 2 and kill switch. i don't know why. i have direct x 9.0c. do you know what's wrong with my computer? thank u

 

Could be DX 9.0c, I have heard of many glitches with the new version, unfortunately you are unable to roll back. It could also be the current drivers your using on your Graphics Card. If you have the latest try rolling them back. If all else fails, go to start, then run, type: dxdiag, then save dxdiag info and email it to the game makers, see what they say of driver setup.

i still experience hang problem with my doom 3. maybe you can take a look at my direct x file and give some advice. the catalyst software u told me, i downloaded but still can't solve my problem.

have you checked your heatsinks and fans
if the machine slows down after awhile when used normally it could be getting to hot
check the fins are clear of dust
also try playing the game with the machine covers off
