hey jan or toocool! or anyone that can help! if i put this bios onto another xbox hard drive, i have a softmodded xbox that works fine, i can ftp into it and such, my question is, if i put this bios onto c drive, then put this mod chip into the softmodded xbox, would this let me flash it thru the hard drive option? then take it out of softmodded xbox, and put it into other xbox and would this work? or is this to confusing?

 

Ok ive got a good one ive installed 3 x3 xecuter mod chips 2 in v1.6 and 1 in 1.5 xbox i flashed the bios in the v 1.6 with no problem but the v 1.5 im having probs i get the sceen to flash bios via cd insert the dvd which has both files bios.bin and dummy but screen shows cd label but does not read bios update were have i gone wrong ?

 

A v1.6, Xbox always uses a different Bios than a v.1.0 - 1.5, so if you are trying to use that same bios on a v1.5 thats your issue. I looked at my AID v3.0 disc, it did reveal two sets of bioses, X3.3294 and a X3.3294.v16plus. You need to use the X3.3294 on your v1.5. If you have a Slayer's or AID v3.0 disc you should find the bios on it. I can email the bios to you if need be, just send me a PM with your email address.

 

Thanks for that but i am using the correct bios it dosen't seem to be reading it could this be the type of dvd disk im using or is it just not reading bin files ? i feel a little stupid asking as ive flashed before

 

Thats possible I've modded quite a few Xboxes and believe it or not some would only load the bios from a CD-RW and others a DVD-R so try the one you have not done so with.

 

Yes i have no choice but to do so the drive im dealing with is a samsung ill get back to this thread when ive had success...

 

Well Well Well im stupid after all ive been re-nameing my bios bin wrong i renamed it bios.bin and when the disk drive reads it its reading bios.bin.bin so if you name it just bios it automatically shows it as bios.bin and therefore it will flash away and now ive flashed the v1.5 xbox with success thanks for all the input...
