Hopefully someone will be able to shed some light on this subject... I have Recordnow 6.5.0 and once I have the program open and when I am pulling a file from a CD to put it into the ready to burn part of the window it seems to go fine. However, when I try to pull the second song from the CD to the ready to burn window it seems to dramatically slow down and takes about 1/2 hour to transfer the song. I'm running Windows media player nine too. I have already done a disk clean up and defragment. Any ideas?
I'm not sure how good of a burning engine Sonic Recordnow is. I've tried it on my computer long ago and it took pretty much hours to copy disc to disc. I bought Nero it it worked like a charm. With Nero, it took less than a few minutes to rip the entire CD and copy it to a CDr.
Check and make sure your drive has not returned to PIO mode and that DMA is enabled. This is for XP http://home.comcast.net/~bbmayo/checking DMA.pdf
