I haven't used dvd decrypter in quite sometime, that doesn't seem like its ripping that slow to me.
    What are your system specs?

I have 3 16x burners, but I NEVER burn that fast 8x is the max for me.
I have enough dvd Coasters in my house! LOL
I get errors going that fast.

I'm using decrypter right now just to see what read rate im getting.
mine is only reading at 4.5x
Some discs will rip faster than others.

If your talking to me I use several different apps
    DVDRB/CCE
    Intervideo dvd copy3
    dvd2one
    nero recode
    dvd shrink
All of these apps I use with AnyDvd running in the background

You may wanna consider getting more ram and even more harddrive.

I would say at least 512mb ..some people get by with 256, but then you better have everything closed when your ripping and burning.

Your welcome, you better thank your lucky stars if you can rip, and burn with that little bit of ram at any speed.

    Good luck to you
