Apparently, it can play Divx files. Either AVI or DIVX file extensions.
Usually, these kinds of devices play files of up to 720*576 resolution.

Before you do a conversion, be sure about what you have.
Use MediaInfo, open one of your troublesome files,
put the program into view/text mode and post the result in here so we can see it.

The device appears to be an up-converting DVD player; it plays standard def DVD's
    and up-converts them to 1080p.

Some players, (mine included) will play XVID (codec ID) without issues.
But I'm aware of some, being a little fussy, will only play files with an
ID of DIVX, even though they're almost identical. First thing to try
is a 4cc changer. Take a copy of your movie, use the 4cc changer and change the
4cc of the file to DIVX and try that.

Make sure you save it on the USB stick in a simple fie name, such as movie.avi

    FourCC Used Code: XVID - MP41 - MP42 - MP43 - DIV3 -

    NO DIVX option..

No need to use the drop down list.
Just over type each field with DIVX (upper case) and apply.
