AGAK - Ok I tried the TV Tuner Library update - and loaded in the driver. After I plug the driver in windows cuts out and goes to safe mode. I then reboot and run Windows Media Center to try and set-up the TV - but back to safe mode I go....After I disable the driver everything goes back to normal but no TV. Probably easier to just dump the crappy sony card and go to another brand....

Anyone have a gauranteed to work with Vista Ultimate and Windows Media Center TV tuner card recommendation? Also - I cannot use PCI-e - only AGP/PCI.

    thanks,

    drew

    Hi, Guys

I have a SONY VGC-V517G desktop, when I recently update the system to XP Pro SP2 after I installed SONY shared libaray and the advanced MPEG Encoder Board program it always says fail to update driver, so right now I don't know what to do.
Does anybody know what's the tuner's type or where I can find the driver for it?
    Thanks a lot.

    Hey all. .

I am looking now too. Sony is Really bad about providing drivers for their machines. You could probebly get the restore disks from sony for like 20$ plus shipping. Which WILL have all the drivers for the machine at factory Spec. So you should check your machines factory Specs. I have a PCV-RZ14G with GP V5.0. The TV tuner works great. However, when trying to record I get an error after a few seconds. "Cannot record because of lack of memory or high load of Windows environment" I have no other programs running, my HD is not full at all, and the PC has 512 Mb of ram. I have done all the sony updates for my model with the same problem. I dont have the original disks anymore and they are not available for purchace either. Should I uninstall the GP V5.0 and load the V4.3 that was posted earlier? Any ideas? Or Does anyone have the original recovery disks?

    Check your pci card type
    ver 4.3 is for ENX-15 or 16
    Use ramjet's version for ENX-26

    Agak,
On a previous page of this thread it was stated that the ENX-15 has video outputs. If this is true then I have the ENX-15. It looked like someone else was trying to do the same thing I am. I never heard if it worked.

ENX-15 does have audio/video outputs but the only application that used them was GigaPocket and the Original version IntervideoDVD that came with Sony.
However you can use graphedit to access and use them if wanted as a video renderer or write your own application as they use a directshow filter.

    Agak,
I'm just looking to see if I can uninstall GP V5.0 bucause it doesn't record and install GP V4.3 to see if it will take care of the problem. If I had the original disks I would just uninstall V5.0 and reinstall it.

    Hi eveybody

I just need information about the Sony enx-25 board.
During an electric storm, my father's VAIO died 1 year ago. The repair center removed the ENX-25 when changing the mother board (they put an ASUS) and gave the ENX-25 back.
I want to reinstall in his PC (I managed to extract GIGAPOCKET from Sony's DVD). It seems to work (video captured but no sound).
I was wondering if it needs to be connected to the sound adapter (there is a little 4-pin connector on the top of the board).

Do anyone have information about the ENX-25 ?
    Many thanks !

    Christophe

    Read back through the pages.
This has come up a couple of times.
Some setups do need the audio cable.

I will try next time i see my father and his Vaio and I will keep you informed (some 600 km from me, may take some time before I reply).

Is there a manual somewhere available for download for these Sony capture cards ?

    Ouch,
If you changed the motherboard, it is not a Vgc-RB38G anymore.
    Your card is a ENX-26.
Driver files for this has been posted. Tuner hardware library installation for MCE is the problem.
You could always use the TotalMedia3 software.
Or the GigaPocket software from ramjet.
If you still had your original board, you can restore your harddrive with a NEW 'original' image on it, uninstall the video drivers, shut down and plug in your new board.
As long as it is a similer Intel P4, it will usually reconfigure.(Done it many times)

These are the drivers for card install but MCE will want all the tuner library files installed and I not have those on a separate install.
TotalMedia3 only needed the drivers installed and recognized in Hardware Manager.
Should show up in Hardware manager with these or ramjets drivers for GigaPocket.

    Checked the files and ok.
The SMRT drivers may need to be manually installed in hardware manager. Update drivers and point windows to the oem1.inf folder you downloaded.
