    @bilbo

i second that. there is no way sony has out smarted slysoft... even my uneducated self (about burning) didnt have a problem with this movie. anydvd the updated version and clone dvd2 updated version had no problem with this cake walk....sony will keep trying and slysoft will allways be 1 step ahead of them...

Im having serious issue's with RV and ive tried to bakc it up 2x now and both times all I got was the Bio were the man is talking through all the scenes and no menu option on the movie at all.

Ive used AnyDvd and RipIt4Me and it still didn't work. I have CloneDvd2 but I don't know how to use it even after trying to follow the guide. Can anyone help me to back up RV please?

    Thanks

Ok, Ive just finished using RipIt4Me and the FixVTS and now when I try to run it through Shrink it says

"Out of memory, the Peramaters are incorrect"

I have no idea what this means, Now my question is this, can I use Dvd Fab to rip it to my Hard Drive instead of shrink and which folder do I need to use?

I have 1 Folder that says Original IFO's and another Folder that has all the VTS's as well as the logs when I used RipIt4Me and FixVTS so im unsure which I need to use to rip the movie.

    Thanks

First, you will not use the original IFOs. Use the modified (ripped) IFOs. If you use the correct IFOs...

Does this error pop up right away?

If so, that error means that something got screwed up in the VMG Menu. Re-ripping and following the same process may bring this problem back. I think it is caused by FixVTS somehow, but this is only in ARccOS DVDs (like RV).

However, after DVDFab or Ripit4me, CloneDVD2 should be able to open the DVD without problems. CloneDVD2 is not only a transcoder. It has some IFO fixing abilities that are done automatically. This is why AnyDVD + CloneDVD2 will give better results than any other AnyDVD combo.

You can fix it manually with PGCEdit. It is rather simple, but for first timers it seems like too much. You would have to remove the VMG Menu, then create a new VMG Menu consisting of only Dummy PGCs with identical commands as the original menu. However, since there are no PGCs, there should be no post commands. You would have to move those (cut and paste) to the end of the pre commands. I currently do not have access to any of my editing guides so I cannot send one your way, but some were at one time or another posted (linked to) on Afterdawn, possibly in my ARccOS threads.

If you do not want to do this, you can also try using FixVTS on the corrupt VTS only and skip the menus (you would have to re-rip the movie and go through the Ripti4me steps though). Do this by launching FixVTS and then dragging and dropping a corrupt VOB file. Then select "clean up". This will only process one VTS. For instance, if VTS_04 is corrupt, drag and drop VTS_04_1.VOB on FixVTS and click "clean up".

Another thing to try is Nero Recode. That may open the DVD even if Shrink can't, but it is not guaranteed. However, the free version of Recode (Recode CE), downconverts the 5.1 Digital Surround to 2.0 channel surround.

Ok, Ive just finished backing up RV once again for the 3rd time and I have to say this was the most difficult that ive encountered.

Anyway, the 3rd 1 started the same as the others did with the Man talking about the scene's etc so I thought my Dvd Remote didn't have the Audio button but OMG I finally found it and Bam it worked like you said.

I don't understand it though, why did this happen and will I have to hit the Audio button on my Dvd Remote everytime? This is really strange how it happened like that.

    Thanks for all the help.

1Tizz , to correct that next time when you re-author the audio pick the 6 channel audio ONLY ,NOT the 2 channel audio uncheck it .thats where the "directors comments" are at which you don't want
