Question Sony RCD-W100 CD Recorder DecK

    Does anyone know what the optical in is for on the back of this device, I can use analogue in/out and optical out. Thing is I just can’t get to grip with digital optical in.

    you can use any of these units to record media to your your Sony deck.
    there must be a setting for optical in for accessing component. check page 26 in your manual. link below to download.
    Connect a component such as digital amplifier,
    CD player, DAT deck, or MD deck through the
    DIGITAL OPTICAL IN/OUT jacks (S/PDIF
    square type) with a optical digital cord (not
    supplied). Be sure to insert the plug until it
    clicks into place.
